- Bicycle Repair and Maintenance: Village Peddler provides bike servicing, treating "each bike as if it were our own." Services mentioned include tune-ups, flat repairs, bike shipping, wheel truing, and simple adjustments. They emphasize that service is by appointment only due to high demand and limited space, though on-the-spot/walk-in repairs are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- Electric Bikes: They have a selection of electric bikes available, catering to the growing demand for e-bikes that can assist riders on challenging terrains or for longer commutes.
Based on the provided customer reviews and publicly available information, Village Peddler exhibits several features.
- Friendly Staff (According to one review): One review specifically highlights "Super friendly and helpful" staff when discussing mountain bike servicing. This suggests a positive customer interaction experience for some patrons.
- Selection of Bikes and Components: Their website indicates a "good selection of bikes" and lists various brands and specific models, including high-end options like Specialized S-Works and Cervelo, alongside components from Shimano, SRAM, and ENVE. However, it is crucial to address conflicting customer feedback. One review raises serious concerns that significantly impact the perception of the business:
- Allegations of Owner Not Paying Workers: A very serious concern is raised regarding the owner allegedly "doesn't pay his workers and uses them being under 18 as an excuse." This is a critical point of contention that potential customers should be aware of.
- Allegations of Repeated Repair Issues and High Prices: The same review claims that the shop has "messed up every single repair and installation I’ve had done there in some way or another while charging crazy expensive prices." This directly contradicts the positive service review and indicates a potential inconsistency in service quality and pricing.
- Customer Dissatisfaction and Warning: The review concludes with a strong warning: "Don’t waste your time here," suggesting a highly negative overall experience for that particular customer.

Village Peddler Reviews
They did a fantastic job of servicing my mountain bike. Super friendly and helpful.
Jul 03, 2025 · Greg BerguigNice people but tons of issues. The owner doesn’t pay his workers and uses them being under 18 as an excuse. This shop has messed up every single repair and installation I’ve had done there in some way or another while charging crazy expensive prices. Don’t waste your time here.
Mar 19, 2025 · SolarDecent selection, prices as expectedfor the area. Service and quality of work is not good. Bought an e-bike from here so would bring it in for service. Bike would always have more issues after getting serviced. There are better shops who do higher quality work and won’t just claim to be swamped to compensate for poor communication and low quality work. Most recently was told several times bike would only take a few days to be done when in reality it took 3-4 weeks to get back with only half the work finished. No one seemed to care, shop must be doing pretty well, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Nice enough people but mechanic needs some more qualified help.
Jun 14, 2024 · Zachary StantonOutstanding shop with great service. Like many, I’ve struggled to find a bike during the pandemic and was after a 56 Diverge. Steve at the Village Peddler went out of his way to help source the frame and components individually and created a build at a very competitive price. I’ll also add that the build quality was better than what I’ve received from Specialized factory builds in the past. The team obviously put a lot of care and attention into the work they do, and it shows. I’ll also say the service is second to none, I’m a really fussy customer and nothing was too much for Steve to deal with. I must have sent him a hundred emails and he continued to be patient and really helpful throughout. If you’re thinking of a custom build or serious mods/repair work, I wouldn’t have any doubts about trusting Steve and his team. I couldn’t recommend enough. I also love that they never once asked for a review, which made me feel even more compelled to write one. A great bike shop!
Oct 20, 2021 · Stephen HooperBest bike shop I’ve been to in Marin (or anywhere really). I’ve bought three bikes here and they are excellent. They have a nice selection of mountain bikes- Santa Cruz, specialized and Marin.Recently I had a couple mechanical issues with one of my bikes after riding it hard for months, and Johnny showed me what was going on and fixed it up gratis. I’m glad i bought from a local shop instead of consumer direct.I can do basic maintenance but it’s nice to have a skilled mechanic to take it to and know you aren’t going to be overcharged and they know what they are doing.
