Landry's Bicycles Boston Reviews
I've had many repairs done here and generally had good experiences. I'm sorry for having to complain this time. The repair shop installed an Avid brake lever for me in the fall 2021. The day before yesterday this lever snapped off as I was cycling to work, see the picture. It has never been subjected to any force other than regular braking operation, and the bicycle is used for very moderate commute. The part is surely out of warranty, but it's an obvious manufacturing defect and a grave safety issue. I would think that as a minimum this should be reported to the manufacturer - and if there are multiple instances of this happening, the part should be recalled. The repair shop, however, flatly rejected my safety concerns. "I don't know the history, it may had been bent." (They replaced the part all right and I'm thankful for that.) Of course a manufacturing defect is not the bike shop's fault, but they represent the manufacturer to the customer. When they install equipment, you expect a certain level of reliability, and you certainly don't expect a brake lever to snap off.
Jul 03, 2025 · Alexei MaznevI stopped in to browse and tested a few bikes. Really comfortable and chill atmosphere. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I wasn’t ready to buy a new bike, but I did bring in my old bike for repairs. Process was quick and easy. They replaced my breaks and tightened up some stuff. Turnaround was less than a day. I’ll definitely be going back for future repairs!
Jun 19, 2025 · TeresaBottom line on top, I would bring any future bike/scooter repairs to Landry’s as well as see them first for any future new bike purchases.I brought my electric scooter in for a rear tire repair, and the service team were both fast and friendly regarding job intake, confirming stock availability of replacement parts, estimated work and repair time, explanation of work performed, and timely completion of the repair job. Labor cost was a little high albeit less than what other bike shops in my area were charging. Not a big deal, but it would’ve been cool to have a first time customer discount thrown my way.I’d say other superlatives about Landry’s Bicycles Boston are that they 1) have free parking behind the building with 2) shop access via ground level rear entrance, and 3) do not give off any pretentious and/or judgmental vibes like other bike shops.
Jun 26, 2025 · V MendozaThese guys are awesome. I've been bringing in my Enduro and DH bikes for service for the past 2 years and they never disappoint. Very professional and knowledgeable team. Big shoutout to Bo and Drew!
Jun 27, 2025 · Dane PhippenDan was excellent! My wife was shopping for bike shoes and has had difficulty in the past at other bike stores finding adequate variety and availability in her size and width. But Dan was very helpful, and there were enough options for my wife to find shoes that fit well. He also helped with cleat fitting, and while I was there, he helped me select a new bike saddle and find the right fit! We spent a good chunk of time with Dan and he never made us feel pressured or hurried. It was an outstanding shopping experience at a bike store!
