NYC Velo Reviews
NYC Velo was incredibly helpful with off the shelf parts for my bike while I was visiting on holiday. On short notice, they disassembled the bike so I could take it back to Australia with ease. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. While their prices are on the higher side, the quality of service and parts makes it worth it.
May 15, 2025 · Sam ConnorsA few years after buying my all city big block here I found out they swapped out the stock stem with one that was too long.I have since went to a different bike shop, and they swapped it out with a different one and my riding comfort improved instantly.Reply: I was asked what type of bars I wanted to which I replied bullhorn bars. The sales person did not say anything about how that would impact bike fit. I also came back to the store shortly after purchasing for advice regarding my discomfort. The reply was just to buy gloves and get different bar tape. Also they also said my bike choice is just inherently uncomfortable and I should have gotten a different bike.Reply: The cost of changing the stem was discomfort and time. I would gladly pay for an "upgrade" if that's what was required to maintain fit, or I would have stuck with drop bars. Unfortunately I never had the chance to make that decision since the stem switch was opaque to me. Just to re-iterate I came to the store shortly after purchasing the bike to communicate my discomfort and address the fit. I was dismissed and I was not offered a bike fitting.
