While Atlantic Bicycles has garnered positive feedback for its quick repairs and owner's helpfulness, some customer experiences vary. One review highlighted, "Found my new go-to local bike shop—friendly owner who happened to have the master key for my tire lock, saving me a trip back home. He fixed my flat quickly and hassle-free. Classic shop, great service—highly recommend." This demonstrates the shop's ability to provide timely and effective solutions for common cycling woes, coupled with a friendly demeanor that builds customer loyalty.
However, it's worth noting that another customer had a less positive interaction: "Tony, the small man I believe is the owner is super aggressive. Always giving false info just so you can buy inflated prices from him. Despite telling Tony I need to do research on the bike parts he kept pushing me to buy, he came off aggressive, condescending and irritating. Tony goes off of bikers ignorance. If you don’t know any better, he tries his best to scam you. He reminds me of old my peddlers." This contrasting feedback suggests that while the shop can offer excellent service, individual experiences may vary. It underscores the importance of clear communication and feeling comfortable with your choices when making purchases or having repairs done.
Despite varied individual experiences, the shop's long-standing presence as "Downtown Brooklyn's oldest bike shop" indicates a sustained history of serving the community.

May 17, 2025 · Alfred “Wayne”First of all, bless these folks for opening at 10am! Getting a flat tire on the way to work sucks a lot, but not having to wait until 11am or later is a gift. Plus, Tony and his crew are supremely nice people. 10/10 recommend for a basic flat fix, and would hit them up for other services if I lived locally.
Nov 06, 2024 · Maggie StapletonStopped by when I was out riding with a friend and his tire popped. Tony fixed it quickly and was very friendly with both of us. Offered me some advice about my saddle and some new tires but went out of his way to make sure I knew he wasn't trying to pressure me into buying anything. Nice guy, not sure why there are comments about him being rude. Maybe caught him on a bad day?I'll probably go see him for some 28mm tires soon.
May 12, 2024 · Chris NewDropped my bike off cause the disc brake was rubbing a bit. Came back a few minutes later and the guy told me he had to take it all apart and put it back together. Charged me 40 bucks and told me the bike needed tightening up and I should really look into that (my usual guy is a pro and that wasn’t the case). Couple weeks later the same thing happened again, took it to my trusted guy and it’s an adjuster he just tightened a couple times. Fixed instantly. Either the guy finessed me or didn’t know what he was doing. Either way, be wary.
