Heard so much and read up on Fits by Pedro so was looking forward to my session. Met up on his shop on Union and chatted a bit while he set things up. We are both from the Philippines so talked about favorite restos and recipes while he set up my bike on the trainer.Started with checking my sit bones then on to my shoes (new arch support from Specialized) and cleats.Once that was set, I sat on the bike and we spent about an hour adjusting my saddle height, reach and stack, as well as my handlebar drop, angle and stem. At the end, I felt a huge improvement in my riding position both on the bar and on the drops. Black sticker markers placed to mark my saddle height and bar. Will be back for a check in after 4-6 weeks and see how things are. Overall a great experience and I could already feel a difference on my ride back. - Ian Soriano

P-Fits/Fitted By Pedro Introduce

For many cyclists across California, the pursuit of optimal comfort, efficiency, and injury prevention on the bike often leads to one specialized service: professional bike fitting. In San Francisco, one name consistently rises to the top when discussing this crucial aspect of cycling: P-Fits, or as many know it, Fitted By Pedro. This is not a traditional "bicycle store" in the sense of selling bikes or carrying a vast inventory of parts; rather, it is a dedicated studio focused exclusively on the art and science of perfecting the human-to-bike connection. Pedro's approach combines years of experience, a deep understanding of biomechanics, and a genuinely humanistic touch to ensure that every rider, from casual commuters to endurance athletes, achieves their best possible position on the bike. This article will explore the unique offerings of Fitted By Pedro, highlighting its convenient San Francisco location, the meticulous services provided, and the profound impact it has on the riding experience of its Californian clientele.

The urban landscape of San Francisco, with its challenging hills and diverse riding conditions, makes a proper bike fit particularly important for locals. Whether you're navigating the city streets, embarking on a long-distance charity ride like AIDS/Lifecycle, or simply enjoying a weekend spin, discomfort or inefficiency can quickly diminish the joy of cycling. Pedro, the expert behind P-Fits, understands these challenges intimately. What truly sets him apart, as consistently praised by his enthusiastic customers, is his ability to blend technical precision with a warm, personable approach. Imagine a session where you not only get expert adjustments to your saddle height, reach, stack, and handlebar drop but also enjoy friendly conversation, perhaps even bonding over shared cultural backgrounds, as one customer from the Philippines experienced. This personalized interaction creates a comfortable environment where clients feel heard and understood.

The impact of Pedro's work is often described as "a huge game changer!" Riders report immediate improvements in riding position, elimination of nagging back pain, increased strength for climbing, and reduced fatigue, even after two months. His meticulous attention to detail, from checking sit bones and cleat positions to fine-tuning every aspect of the bike's setup, ensures that the fit is not just theoretical but tangibly transformative. Pedro's reputation for being "wonderful listener, incredibly knowledgeable and precise in his work, and a super nice guy" underscores the comprehensive value he provides. For any Californian cyclist seeking to unlock their full potential on the bike, alleviate discomfort, or simply ride with greater enjoyment and confidence, Fitted By Pedro offers an unparalleled service that truly optimizes the crucial interface between rider and machine.

P-Fits/Fitted By Pedro is elegantly situated at 2147 Union St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA. This address places Pedro's studio in the charming and upscale Marina District, a highly desirable neighborhood in San Francisco. Union Street is well-known for its boutique shops, cafes, and vibrant atmosphere, making the studio easily accessible for residents across the city and surrounding Bay Area communities. The location is described as "beautifully decorated, bright, with high ceilings, and is tucked away in a cute area," suggesting a professional yet inviting environment that enhances the client experience. For those relying on public transportation, various MUNI bus lines serve the Union Street corridor, providing convenient access. For clients driving to their appointment, street parking in the Marina can sometimes be competitive, but options are typically available within a short walking distance. The studio's presence in such a popular and central part of San Francisco ensures that premier bike fitting services are readily available to a wide range of cyclists in California, from casual riders to serious athletes preparing for major events like AIDS/Lifecycle.

P-Fits/Fitted By Pedro specializes in highly personalized, professional bike fitting services, designed to optimize a cyclist's comfort, efficiency, power, and injury prevention. While not a retail store for bikes, their services are integral to enhancing the cycling experience:

  • Comprehensive Bike Fitting Sessions: Pedro conducts in-depth sessions that meticulously adjust a cyclist's position on their bike. This includes checking sit bones, adjusting saddle height, fore-aft, and tilt, optimizing reach and stack, and fine-tuning handlebar drop, angle, and stem length. He customizes each aspect to the individual rider's biomechanics, flexibility, and riding goals.
  • Cleat and Shoe Assessment: A critical part of the fitting process involves a thorough examination of shoes (including new arch support if needed) and cleats. Pedro properly installs cleats based on the rider's foot type and pedal system (e.g., Specialized, Shimano, LOOK, Speedplay/Wahoo), ensuring optimal power transfer and comfort while preventing numbness or pain.
  • Dynamic Fitting Approach: Pedro employs a "minimalist approach" where sessions are done "Dynamically," focusing on how the rider moves on the bike rather than relying solely on computer cameras. This allows for real-time adjustments and immediate feedback on position changes.
  • Post-Fit Follow-Up: Clients are encouraged to return for a "check-in after 4-6 weeks" for fine-tuning. This ensures that the adjustments integrate well with the rider's body over time and allows for any necessary modifications as the rider adapts.
  • Pre-Purchase Bike Sizing (Body Measurements): Pedro offers consultations to help clients understand "what 'in between sizing' means" and to determine the best bike size(s) for their body before investing in a new or used bike. This service helps prevent costly mistakes by ensuring the purchased bike can be properly fitted.
  • Peloton Fitting: For indoor cyclists, Pedro provides specific Peloton bike fittings, available in-person or via Google video calls, to ensure proper cleat position and optimal riding posture on stationary bikes.
  • Expert Advice and Recommendations: Pedro offers professional advice on body position, components, and even provides recommendations for local physical therapists, doctors, coaches (cycling, triathlon, swimming, running), nutritionists, and life coaches, demonstrating a holistic approach to rider well-being.
  • Sale of Select Components/Gear: While primarily a fitting studio, he does offer some essential components and cycling apparel on his online shop, such as saddles (e.g., Specialized Power Comp, ISM PL1.1), cleats (Shimano, LOOK, Wahoo-Speedplay), handlebars (Zipp), seatposts (Zipp), and cycling apparel (t-shirts, bib shorts).

P-Fits/Fitted By Pedro distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that make it a truly exceptional and highly recommended service for cyclists in California:
