Beware the small print in the return policy and double check your bike for defects before you leave the store.I Bought an e-bike with the understanding there was a 2 week return policy. I liked my bike and only road it 3 times. Store to home, 10miles to a park and back, and from home back to Mike's Bikes.I actually liked it so much I wanted to exchange it for a more expensive model, but when I brought it back to exchange it I learned about the "Reshelving Fee."Two words never uttered when I was initially told I had 2 weeks to return it.I'm reasonable, and would've gone through with the exchange, but the "Reshelving Fee" was $283 dollars. The manager at Mikes explained that there was a chip in the paint, and a slight bend in the crossbar neither of which I noticed before bringing it back.I still don't see any bend in the crossbar. And the chip and mystery bend could've always been there or happened when I dropped the bike off for them to look over the day before.Oh, and part of the "Reshelving Fee," included the mileage I put on the bike, about 20 miles. If they had told me mileage went into the fee I would've drove the bike back.I get that policy is policy, but I also found it shady that they had put a price sticker on the bike I was trying to return for the full price of the bike. If the "Reshelving Fee" is supposed to let them recoup the difference in cost, shouldn't the bike have been less expensive than when I bought it? Plus, they hadnt even fixed the chipped paint before putting the price sticker back on.So, I took my bike back, and didn't exchange it for the more expensive model. They pulled the price sticker off and I road home feeling like I was at Mike's greasy used car dealership rather than a neighborhood bike shops.I should mention that one of the employees was helpful and sympathetic. The manager also offered a free tune up and 10% off a full price product, a $140 value according to him, but honestly if they'd just taken $140 off the "Reshelving Fee," I'd have probably dropped $450 to trade in for the more expensive bike and they could've resold my bike for full price like I'm sure they would have anyway.2 Stars, because the initial purchasing experience was actually very nice. - Chris Robinson

  • Potential Inconsistencies in Repair Quality: One review detailed issues with flat tire repairs (failing quickly, missing brake pads after service), suggesting potential inconsistencies in the thoroughness or quality of repair work. This highlights the importance of carefully inspecting bikes upon pickup from service.
  • Pricing and Voucher Clarity (implied): The customer experience with the reshelving fee, and the general perception of pricing, suggests that customers should seek absolute clarity on all terms, conditions, and potential additional costs associated with purchases or returns.
