I'll never take a bike anywhere else after my experience here.I bought an old 2013 specialized allez off of facebook marketplace for my partner to get into cycling as I have recently. Turns out there was an issue with the rear brake rubbing pretty bad, and when I (stupidly) tried to re-adjust it with no knowledge on how bikes work at all, the entire caliper went loose. After trying to tighten everything up, the caliper just wouldn't stay in place.I made a couple calls around to some bike shops in the area, and although most were kind and let me know it would be a pretty easy fix, it was at least a couple weeks wait time before I would get the bike back. I thought I'd call one more place to see if it would be less of a wait time and that's when I found TriBella. I called, James the owner picked up and tried helping me do the repair over the phone to save me some time and money. Already way more than I expected. Unfortunately I couldn't get it right and James told me to just stop by that same day before 5, so I ran over there right way on Saturday at about 11am.When I got there, James was nice and threw the bike on the repair stand and got to work. Instead of just checking out the brake that had the issue, he spent around 15 minutes going over the entire bike. Because I'm new to all of this I'm not sure exactly what he did but here's what I saw:1. Shortened the length of the cables near the handlebars. He said they used to come like that from the factory like that to be adjusted by the shop selling but it wasn't done too often.2. Adjusted the handlebar position to be a little better for a woman to use.3. Cleaned up all the cable ends that didn't have the covers and looked crazy.4. Adjusted both front and back derailleurs, checking the shifting as he did (the thing shifts better than my 2022 Diverge after this)5. Adjusted brake cables6. Finally at the end tightened up the brake caliper that was loose.7. Replaced some smaller miscellaneous parts8. Taught me about bikes in general, repairs, and little things about this bike specifically I would've never known, all while working. While I'm sure he did more than this, I was a bit distracted looking at the bikes around the shop and chatting it up with James while he worked. He's a great guy with a lifetime of experience and I still can't believe how lucky I got finding this place. At the end of it all, I don't think he was planning on charging me a dime but I couldn't walk out of there without paying the man after everything he did for me (which I'm sure was not enough for his time). He then gave me a tour around the shop and the attached bike fitting business just to show me how it all works.I cannot thank James and his team enough for how well he treated me. Although a custom bike like the ones sold at TriBella is not in the budget for a long while, any service I need in the future will be here 100%. - Mason Rillo
