Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown

1500 Wynkoop St #102, Denver, CO 80202, USA

4.0
This is one of the most consistently helpful locations in all of downtown. I bought my e-bike here about a year ago and they have consistently been able to support me in maintaining it as my main form of transportation. The repair staff seem to enjoy what they do, and are flexible in their scheduling and ability to repair even the most unusual or uncommon of breaks. Whatever issues or problems have come up, they've always been resolved in a downright civil and small town manor. While they are a chain, this gives them the support that they can use to assist you, while the locally owned nature of the management, ensures it'll never feel foreign. They have ways of guaranteeing that you'll get your tax credits for your electric bicycle right off the lot. And they'll be able to help you keep track of all sorts of stuff like warranties, Lock combinations, and accessories.Getting your bike in and out of the facility does take a bit of strength as the ramp is basically installed on a flight of stairs that was never intended for vehicles. There is a side door but I don't think anyone is allowed to use it as it's always locked when I'm there, which is disappointing as it does have a much better and easier to use ramp though I suppose because it connects to the road. It's a safety hazard. Land terrier is no more cramped than any other bike store I've ever been in, with the rides themselves stacked together like sardines on racks. The volume has never been too much for me there and even at their busiest I never see more than four people in the store at one time. This is also a great place to pick up any of the more miscellaneous biking equipment you may have forgotten on your way into downtown, or that you realize you need on your way home. The foxhound gloves I got there served me incredibly well and are super well insulated. When leaving I recommend going down the alleyway next to it as it's an open public area with a few businesses that have access points there. The sidewalk outside on 15th Street is a little narrow and is busy to boot. - Nelson Belanger

Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown Introduce

Hello, Colorado cyclists! If you're navigating the bustling streets of downtown Denver on two wheels, or simply looking for a reliable partner for all your cycling adventures, then **Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown** is a name you absolutely need to know. More than just a bicycle store, it's a consistently helpful and welcoming hub that blends the support of a larger chain with the personal touch of local management, making it a standout choice for riders across our state.

Colorado's unique blend of urban environments and breathtaking natural landscapes makes cycling a popular and essential activity. From daily commutes through the city to weekend excursions on the myriad of bike paths, having a well-maintained bike and a trustworthy team to support it is paramount. Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown excels in this role, offering a comprehensive selection of bikes, particularly excelling in the e-bike market, coupled with a service department that truly goes the extra mile.

What truly sets Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown apart is its unique blend of "chain support" and "locally owned management." This means you benefit from the resources and selection of a larger organization while still experiencing the personal, attentive service that makes you feel like you're in a "small town manor." Their repair staff are not just skilled; they "seem to enjoy what they do," fostering an atmosphere where even "unusual or uncommon breaks" are resolved with ease and professionalism.

The shop's commitment to customer satisfaction extends to practical benefits, such as assisting with Colorado's electric bicycle tax credits right at the point of sale. They also help you keep track of important details like warranties, lock combinations, and accessories, ensuring a seamless and worry-free ownership experience. If you're in downtown Denver and need anything from a new e-bike to a quick fix for a forgotten accessory, Mike's Bikes offers a reliable and friendly solution.

Mike's Bikes of Denver Downtown is conveniently located at **1500 Wynkoop St #102, Denver, CO 80202, USA**. This address places it directly in the heart of Denver's vibrant Lower Downtown (LoDo) district, a bustling area known for its historic buildings, popular restaurants, and proximity to major attractions like Coors Field and Union Station.

The accessibility of this location is excellent for those utilizing various modes of transportation. Being in LoDo, it's easily reachable by car, though like any downtown area, parking can require a bit of planning. However, its proximity to Union Station makes it exceptionally accessible via public transit, including light rail, commuter rail, and numerous bus routes. This is a significant advantage for Denver commuters who rely on bikes as their main form of transportation.

A notable point regarding accessibility, as highlighted by a customer, is the entrance. While getting a bike in and out of the main entrance "does take a bit of strength as the ramp is basically installed on a flight of stairs," the staff's flexibility and willingness to assist compensate for this. The mention of a "side door" with a "much better and easier to use ramp" suggests that with staff assistance, accessibility can be improved for those who might find the main ramp challenging.

For those cycling to the shop, the recommendation to "go down the alleyway next to it" when leaving, due to the "narrow and busy" sidewalk on 15th Street, provides valuable local insight, enhancing the overall cycling experience to and from the store. This granular knowledge further underscores their commitment to understanding and serving the local cycling community.
