Fat Tire Cycles - Montaño Reviews
This review is for the Foothills shop. In town for work and play, I rented a mountain bike for the day. I was blown away by the service and how well they set the bike up. May 17, 2025 · Mitch HammerVisiting from out of town and looking for a good rental bike, I stumbled across Fat Tire Cycles - Montaño location. Javier hooked me up with a great bike (Mondraker Foxy R), he set up everything well, shock, fork, sag, etc., and pointed me in the direction of some great local trails. This is clearly a shop focused on building relationships and servicing their customers, even if from out of town. Thanks guys!
Jul 04, 2025 · Thomas FalterI recently took three of my children into this bike shop to purchase bicycles, and dealt with Eric, the owner of this shop (as well as their other two locations in Albuquerque). Eric was able to find two bikes for my kiddos in this location, as well as to check inventory and call ahead to one of their other locations to get us the other two bikes (one for one of my other kids, and one for me) as well. Exceptional knowledge, service, and professionalism. In addition, after visiting multiple other bike shops the same day, they not only made me a package deal on four new bicycles, but they are the only shop in town that will give free adjustments for life on my new bicycle; every one else in town offered 90 days, one year, two years, etc. Great, local business. When I was speaking with Eric, he specifically mentioned that the reason his business is as successful as it is, is because he has good people (employees). There’s no doubt about that. Ethan and Ryan were a huge help at the other shop in Corrales too. Some employees were more knowledgeable than others, of course, but all were exceptionally professional, courteous, and kind. They even stayed open an extra 45 minutes to sell me two bikes (thanks to Ryan, Isaiah, and Frank). Way to go guys; your business is not only unusual, but it’s quite remarkable, especially in a place like Albuquerque, where great customer service is tough to find. I’ll be back.
Apr 27, 2025 · T BoneI took my bike in at 10:00 am one morning for a little problem with the MSW computer I thought would take five minutes to fix. It was a much more serious problem that took two people an hour and a half to disassemble and discover a hidden glitch. They were patient and just would not give up, and they ended up putting in a new computer (no charge!), working on a wonky tire valve they discovered when they put air in the tires, and on top of everything noticed my seat was out of alignment and adjusted it three times with test drives in between. This kind of care and service is just extraordinary— so far above and beyond. It’s a wonderful store, and I wouldn’t take my bike anywhere else!
Jul 01, 2025 · Rebecca SitterlyI've heard good things about Fat Tire from several cyclists. Got firsthand experience today at Montaño. Greeted at the door. Directed to Service Department, which had 5 employees busy but enjoying themselves. One customer ahead, one behind in line. Mike took care of each of us efficiently and pleasantly. My repair was easy and done on the spot. I was back on my bike within the hour. Thanks!
