I bought my girlfriend a brand new Yamaha Wavash E-Bike for Christmas. I payed online. It was confirmed later they needed $400 for shipping and I contacted them before they shipped it to tell them I wanted out. I found one that would ship for $230. They said it wouldn’t ship for another day but too bad they started the paperwork. I was cool with that I decided—my bad.The bike showed up beat up! Handlebars were scratched, computer scuffed. Grip tape straight-up cut. A brake cable was pinched, and black gloss paint was scuffed. They gave me back the shipping cost and sent me a computer which seemed good enough but then when I finally got the bike put together I found out it was in even worse shape. They ghosted me at this point. I sent videos to them of the brand spanking new derailleur and hangar (zero dust even on it) they were both bent very bad. The front wheel was bent too my girlfriend found out when she went to ride it. I thought I managed to get the derailleur bent back with my straightener, but alas the derailleur must be in bad shape. We took our first ride today (this was the worst Christmas present even two months later) and girlfriend quit after a half mile. Of course a $2000+ purchase should probably roll down the road right out of the box but no, not even close. Don’t waste your time with these guys, and certainly don’t have them pack a bike for you.Who even knows what else will shake out after I buy new parts for this 5 minute old bike and get them installed. - Greg Swingle

Electric Cyclery Introduce

Electric bicycles have transformed the way many Californians navigate their local landscapes, offering a convenient, eco-friendly, and exhilarating way to commute, exercise, and explore. As the popularity of e-bikes continues to soar across the state, local stores specializing in these innovative two-wheelers become increasingly important resources. Electric Cyclery, located in the picturesque coastal city of Laguna Beach, California, positions itself as such a destination. This article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of Electric Cyclery for prospective customers in the California region, detailing its location, potential services, and what recent customer experiences might indicate about doing business with them.

Electric Cyclery is situated at 1200 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, USA. This address places the store directly on the iconic Pacific Coast Highway, a prime location that is easily accessible for residents and visitors throughout Laguna Beach and the wider Orange County area. The Pacific Coast Highway is a major arterial road, making the store highly visible and straightforward to find for those driving. Parking might vary given the busy nature of coastal areas, but its prominent location means it's a known spot. For those relying on public transportation, local bus services would likely serve the PCH corridor, offering connections from various points within Laguna Beach and neighboring communities. Being on the coast, Electric Cyclery is perfectly positioned to cater to the demand for e-bikes, which are ideal for exploring Laguna's hilly terrain and scenic oceanfront paths, offering a less strenuous way to enjoy the beautiful Californian outdoors.

As a store named "Electric Cyclery," their core business is clearly focused on electric bicycles. While explicit, detailed lists of their services are not widely available through public reviews, common offerings from e-bike specialized stores typically include:

  • Electric Bicycle Sales: Offering a range of new electric bikes from various brands, likely including models suitable for commuting, leisure rides, and potentially more rugged terrain, catering to different rider preferences and budgets.

  • E-Bike Repair and Maintenance: Specialized repair services for electric bikes, including motor diagnostics, battery testing, controller issues, and general bicycle maintenance such as brake adjustments, tire repairs, and drivetrain tuning. E-bikes have unique components that require specific expertise.

  • Parts and Accessories: Providing e-bike specific parts (e.g., replacement batteries, chargers) and general bicycle accessories like helmets, locks, lights, and perhaps cycling apparel.

  • Test Rides: Enabling prospective buyers to test ride different e-bike models to find the one that best suits their needs and preferences.

  • Assembly and Setup: Assisting customers with the proper assembly and initial setup of their new e-bikes, ensuring they are ready to ride safely.

Based on available customer reviews, some potential features and highlights of Electric Cyclery, as well as areas of concern, can be identified:

  • Focus on E-Bikes: As a dedicated "Electric Cyclery," their primary strength lies in specializing in electric bicycles, which means they likely have a more curated selection and deeper knowledge of these specific products compared to general bike shops.

  • Prominent Coastal Location: Their address on N Pacific Coast Highway is highly visible and convenient for those in Laguna Beach and surrounding coastal communities, making it an accessible local option for e-bike needs.

  • Online Purchase Option (with caveats): The presence of online payment indicates a system for remote purchases, offering convenience for customers who prefer to shop from home, though recent customer experiences suggest caution regarding shipping and condition upon arrival.

  • Customer Service Challenges (Historical): It is important for prospective customers to be aware that recent public reviews highlight significant issues with customer service, including lack of responsiveness to emails and phone calls, as well as problems with the condition of shipped products (e.g., damaged bikes, incorrect items sent). One review detailed extensive damage to a newly purchased e-bike upon arrival and subsequent "ghosting" by the company regarding resolution. Another mentioned receiving the wrong battery and having to pay for the return, with delays in receiving the correct item.

  • Potential for In-Person Resolution: While online and remote interactions have shown issues, a physical location theoretically offers the possibility for in-person visits to address concerns, though the efficacy of this approach is not clear from the provided reviews.

For direct inquiries, visits, or to attempt contact, here is the essential information for Electric Cyclery:

Address: 1200 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, USA

In conclusion, Electric Cyclery in Laguna Beach, California, serves as a specialized electric bicycle store positioned in a prime coastal location. For Californians interested in the growing world of e-bikes, a dedicated local shop can be an invaluable resource for sales, specialized repairs, and accessories. However, recent customer feedback suggests that while they offer a desirable product in an accessible location, potential customers should proceed with caution regarding online purchases and customer service responsiveness. For locals in Southern California, understanding these aspects is crucial. If considering a significant purchase or repair, a direct visit to the store, if possible, might be the most effective way to assess their current operational standards and ensure a satisfactory experience. Supporting local businesses is important, and for Electric Cyclery, transparency regarding past customer experiences allows potential buyers to make informed decisions about where they choose to invest in their electric cycling journey.
