UC San Diego Campus Bike & Skate Reviews
Worst customer service, ever. Came in with my scooter on Monday. Was promised to have it repaired by Tuesday, 4 pm. Came in Tuesday at 4 pm, and they didn't even start on the repair. I handed over my promise slip to the owner, and he snatches it away without a single glance, then tells me that the employee who marked my order accidentally put down the deadline as Wednesday. No apologies whatsoever. I come the next day and ask if I could get a small discount for them wasting 30 minutes of my time. The employee just goes "nope" and still no apologies. The employee tells me they had a super busy week and that not everyone brings in scooters on Mondays or Tuesdays, as if it's my fault for their mistake.
Apr 23, 2025 · Jene YangI had an issue with my bike. It was making a strange noise around the gear plate (I also felt a malfunction while pedaling). I decided to get it repaired at this store.I was informed that something was bent and it would be fixed by the next day. So I returned the next day, paid $20, left, and after 5 minutes, I realized the problem was not resolved at all.I went back, and I was told that the pedals needed to be disassembled and cleaned (or something similar, I'm not sure) and it would be fixed by the next day. I returned once again the day after, paid $25. I left, and the problem had improved but was still present. So, I ended up spending $45, and the problem still wasn't solved. In conclusion, the team is really friendly, but the issue lies in the fact that no one took the time (just 5 minutes) to identify the root cause of the problem. They simply took a quick look for 30 to 40 seconds, then told me, 'This is the problem, it will cost you this much, come back tomorrow, and it will be fixed.'
Dec 13, 2023 · Erwan CariouThe people working here are mad incompetent. I walked in there three times in order to just confirm the size of the wheel I was ordering for them to fix, and after they confirmed three times it was the right one they wait two days until they tell me it was wrong. Untrustworthy business.
Oct 10, 2024 · Josh DupreeThe gentleman (who I believe is the owner) is of few words, and can come across as rude. I don’t mind this, though. He’s a fine dude. Services have been subpar and tunings don’t seem to last. This is more of a conspiracy theory, but my new tire tube popped a day after getting a tuneup. I was able to get it repaired elsewhere, and it was fine for a month or so. I brought my bike in again to get a tuneup, and my tire tube popped AGAIN a day afterwards. Both times—no tire damage, no contact with harmful debris, and no obvious reasons for the tears. I don’t know if it’s mediocre mechanical work or what, but I won’t be returning here. I can’t keep having tubes pop right after they service my bike.
Jul 07, 2022 · Ez BGreat campus shop and always a good experience. Usually one day turn around as compared to most shops who won’t get me my bike back for almost a week (especially important since my bike *is* my mode of transport). Also, super reasonable labor rates: better than those at the shops near my house for the same quality repairs.
