Dream Bikes - Milwaukee is a unique and impactful non-profit bicycle store that has been serving the community since its establishment in 2010. Strategically located in the Halyard Park neighborhood, it operates on a powerful dual mission: providing affordable, quality bicycles to the community and offering hands-on, paid job training and employment opportunities for local teens, often in partnership with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of Milwaukee. They achieve this by accepting gently used bicycles, parts, and accessories, which their trained teen employees then refurbish and re-sell at accessible prices.
The store boasts a "huge selection" ranging from "very cost conscious older" and "lower end used bikes" to "very impressive used and even some brand new mid to high end bikes." Every bike sold undergoes inspection to ensure it is safe and in sound working order. Beyond sales, Dream Bikes is a full-service bike shop offering repairs, maintenance, and a wide array of accessories. Their impressive work includes refurbishing over 25,000 used bikes and creating over 350 jobs for underprivileged youth across Wisconsin since their inception in 2008 (including their Madison location). Dream Bikes actively engages the local community through events and aims to foster healthy, happy neighborhoods filled with empowered individuals.

Dream Bikes - Milwaukee Reviews
Went in and found the perfect bike for my needs within their huge selection. Great staff
Apr 17, 2025 · Nick HilbertExcellent place to purchase or donate kids, teens, and/or adult bikes or bike accessories. Impressive range from very cost conscious older (often still better than many new bikes out there) and/or lower end used bikes up to very impressive used and even some brand new mid to high end bikes and accessories offered at great prices (they look over all bikes they sell to help make sure they are safe and in sound working order). Best part is your purchase helps them support the community, etc. Over the years I have donated 3 bikes and have recently bought 3 bikes along with several accessories, mainly lights, pedals, water bottle cages, and the like and could not be happier.
Mar 29, 2024 · Travis MyersI have purchased 4 bikes there for me and my family, and I've referred 2 other families. An excellent vibe, knowledgeable, friendly people, and great prices on quality bikes.(All bikes pictured are Dreambikes!)
Jun 30, 2018 · Jon GilgenbachI took my bike (Schwinn central) in 4 weeks ago. I'm fine with the wait and wanted to support local. I've bought from them before and even had a few tires repaired there. I took it in for a noise it's been making since I bought the bike. They said the wait will be about 4 weeks which I'm completely fine with because they hire high school kids and younger people looking for job experience. I explained my symptoms of the bike. Unfortunately my bike is still making the same loud cracky noise near the crankset. I dont even think they test drove it after they tried to fix it. They said they replaced the bottom bracket but on the receipt it said adjusted BB. It looks like they just cleaned my bike. I even asked them to fix a frayed cable and they did not. My wife called them to days ago and told her that they didn't even have to bike started yet.... I gave my bike to them 4 weeks ago.. That is so shady. So buyer beware they do not offer refunds. Just beware there's a reason the price is so cheap because they just look at the bike for 4 weeks then send it home in my experience. Your better off going to Ben Cycles or Wheel and Sprocket and spending the money for an actual fix and faster timing. Another downside of dream bikes is the hours they are open. I'm apart of the community and feel burned. They said to bring it in the next day when I called them but I don't want to wait another 4 weeks.... The weather is so nice.... Also a red flag is that there bike rack outside of the store is bolted into the ground so any theft with a wrench can wrench it up and take your bike.Edit for dream bikes comment: I did call yesterday, and the worker said, "You don't do refunds on repairs. You guys lie so much.... The name is under my wife's name and I will not be posting it do to privacy concerns.
Jul 03, 2024 · John McLaughlinFabulous place to fix up, they will do repairs (for great prices), upgrade your bike and do it yourself. They have tons of parts to sort through and do it yourself or have them do it. Discounted and repaired and refurbished bikes for kids and everyone at good prices. If you are cleaning out bikes, please donate here!!
