Blue Spruce Cyclery of Centennial (formerly Giant of Centennial) Reviews
This used to be my favorite shop—the only place I trusted.I recently placed an order at the Aurora location and put money down just before they unexpectedly closed due to a tragic loss. I completely understand and sympathize with the situation, and I don’t fault them for needing to close. What I can’t understand is being left in the dark regarding existing, paid orders. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times with no response. I’m moving in two weeks and really need clarity—whether it’s a refund, pickup option, or just an update.I would gladly replace this review for a 5 star if someone could simply acknowledge the situation and respond

May 12, 2024 · Danielle BedunahI am very frustrated with my experience at this location. I originally stopped in on Friday without an appointment, as I was unaware of the current policy, looking for a tube for my bike tire (I had a flat tire). Drew let me in and was very nice and willing to help me get that tube, despite my lack of appointment. Great. Sunday morning my boyfriend, who used to work in a bike shop for many years, replaced the tube in my flat tire and pulled out a thorn. We started our bike ride and my tire went flat again. We went to the closest bike shop to get this fixed, which happened to be this same location that I went to a couple days before. We called ahead and spoke to Drew who told us to come by. When we showed up, the man who opened the door (not Drew, I am not sure his name) was not super welcoming. We explained the situation, let him know that we called ahead, and he took my bike but didn't really communicate with us about what was going on or what the wait would be. After standing there for about 15 minutes without any information from him, I stepped up and asked if we could walk around the shops while we waited, and it was only then that someone else chimed in saying yes, it would be a bit of a wait. No big deal, we went down the street to check out a shop. After we came back, it took several minutes for us to be acknowledged again. I am not sure who actually worked on my bike, but we were told that they found 2 thorns in my tube (which honestly sounds highly unlikely- what are the chances that I get 3 thorns in 2 days) but I didn't push it, I paid for a second tube now, and we left on our bikes. After riding away, we heard some rubbing on the tire. A quick inspection showed that the way they put my wheel back on was not straight and my brake was rubbing my tire slightly. The weather was getting crazy windy, so we decided to continue on in the direction back home, as the slight rubbing should not cause a huge issue for one bike ride, and this was something my boyfriend could fix at home. We made a pit stop for dinner and came back out to find that my tube was totally flat again, the tire itself had not been put back on the wheel correctly, and the wheel had been put on completely crooked. At this point it was 5:45 and still very windy, so my boyfriend rode his bike home alone to go get the truck, and then he had to come back to pick me up. Upon getting home, we found that whoever worked on my bike had also completely overfilled my front tire (we didn't ask them to touch that tire as that was not the flat one), so we let air out, and I assume my back tired popped from them overfilling that one too. Honestly, there is no excuse for an employee who works at a bike shop to overfill tubes with air, especially when the recommended PSI is printed right there on the tire. Additionally, putting a wheel and tire on how they did is ridiculous. It was lazy, as all they had to do was spin the wheel and check the alignment and they would have seen it was off. This location clearly had the tools and mounts necessary to be able to replace this tube, but this is the worst job I have ever seen on a bike tire, which is something relatively easy to fix/replace when it comes to bike repairs, especially when it is someone who is working in a bike shop and should know what they are doing. My boyfriend could have done a much better job at home without the proper tools or a mount, and I would have had him do it if we were not already out on the bikes. Now at the end of this, my bike is worse off than when I brought it in. A simple flat tire turned into money down the drain on 2 tubes, a service fee (for a service that left my bike in worse condition than when I brought it in) and now a crooked wheel that has to be fixed as well. I will not be returning to this location again.
Oct 12, 2020 · Madeline LudwigThese guys are the best! Just had my 2-year old bike destroyed from a rear end car accident recently. I was not planning on purchasing another bike so soon, but there’s still a lot of riding season left. Drew helped me pick out another Liv bike that had all the upgraded components that I was looking for and they happened to have just that bike in their shop and in my size (XS)! They were great in putting it together quickly and transferring some of my gear from the old bike to the new. Not only that, they delivered the bike to my house as I had no way of bringing it home since my car was damaged in the accident as well. Huge thank you to Drew and the guys at the shop, like Ian and Ben! I highly recommend them!
Aug 19, 2023 · Ruby FI took my 22 yr old Schwinn in to get the shifters and brake lines fixed/replaced. Despite being around the holidays, these guys did a fix and full tune up in a few short days. Great service and communication, and they brought an old nostalgic bike back to life for me!! 10/10 would recommend 👍
