I brought my scooter to Tarpon Tom’s E-Bike Shop for what should have been a simple tire replacement, but the experience was an absolute NIGHTMARE.I originally dropped my scooter off at their e-bike shop to have a tubed tire replaced with a solid tire after running over a nail. I provided the new tire myself and was assured the job would take two days. After a week of silence, I called to check the status, only to be met with shock and confusion by an employee who clearly had no idea what I was talking about. When I asked when it would be done, he rudely replied, "I just said today," with an attitude that was completely unprofessional. After waiting another FOUR days without any communication, I went in person to check on my scooter. The shop was empty again, and the employee was behind the building, smoking with a friend. When I finally got his attention, I was told that not only was the repair not done, but they were unable to install the solid tire, claiming they "baked it" and "let it sit in the sun," but couldn’t get it onto the rim. At this point, a simple phone call would have been the courteous thing to do rather than just forgetting about my scooter—again.I then had a conversation with the employee about alternative ways to prevent future punctures, and he initially quoted me about $100 for another solution but had no idea of what he was going to do. He told me he would look into options, call me in two days, and not proceed with anything until I had made a decision. However, instead of honoring this, I received a last-minute call right before closing two days later, telling me that my scooter was already repaired—without my approval and with a sudden price drop to $50.When I picked up my scooter, I examined the solid tire they supposedly "tried" to install. There wasn’t a single mark on it that would indicate any real attempt was made. It was clear they never actually tried, they just didn’t want to put in the extra effort. On top of that, they scratched through the paint around the tire valve, exposing the metal underneath to potential rust. This isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had here either. Just a month ago, I had them replace a tube, and they misaligned the brake disc in the process. When I originally had the tube replaced, the brake disc was already off, and the bolts were loose. I was charged $55 for that tube replacement (even though I provided the tube), while this latest repair was $50 with them providing the tube and i was quoted $100 for an unspecified repair that was not done or researched. Their pricing makes no sense. To make matters even worse, after all this, I attempted to contact the owner directly to resolve the issue. An employee at their other location told me that email was the only way to reach them. I sent an email and waited. Five business days later, I still have not received a single response, and i feel 5 business days is an appropriate time to be given to respond to a complaint. What should have taken two days ended up stretching to almost three weeks. The lack of communication, the dishonesty, and the completely unprofessional behavior of the staff made this one of the worst repair experiences I’ve ever had for such a simple item. This business is unorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest. - Ryan
