Tarpon Tom's Bike Shop Reviews
Took my bike to Tarpon Tom's this morning to have the free wheel and the chain replaced. I don't know his name but he did me a solid. I asked him if he could get it replaced while I waited. I said yes, he said I would be about 35 minutes or so. He had it done in that time frame for me which was awesome. I appreciated him doing that for me. Seems like I had no way of leaving it behind. It is my only source of transportation. Thank you so much.
Jun 24, 2025 · Marchelle TwiteI got a flat tire and decided to replace the tire and tube myself with brand-new parts. After finishing the job, the tire was wobbly but holding air just fine, so I decided to take it to the experts to see what was wrong. When they called me to pick it up, I was charged $26, but when I asked what work had been done, they couldn’t give me a clear answer. I paid the $26 and left. The next morning, the tire was flat , so I went back and told them I had just paid $26 and the issue wasn’t resolved. I left the tire with them and returned the next day, only to be told the inner tube was bad and needed replacing—for another $20. I refused to pay because the tube was brand new and had been holding air before I brought it in. When I pressed them about the original $26 charge, they couldn’t explain what it was for, but they told me not to worry about the new charge.I took the bike home, and guess what? The tire was flat again the next morning! At this point, I’ve decided to troubleshoot the issue myself to save the time and frustration of going back and hoping they get it right on the third try.Respond to the owners nasty answer -I purchased a tube with a 5-star rating and 34,483 sales. The tube has nothing to do with the service. When I brought the tire to you, it was holding air. Now, I’m out $26, and I have a flat tire—yet I’m the one accused of stealing? You supposedly installed a new tube, so why is the tire flat again? You tried to charge me twice, never explained what you actually did, and before this, I had a working tire. I could ride my bike before, but now I have a completely flat tire that won’t hold air—but somehow, I stole from you?You should be refunding me the $26 and the money I spent purchasing the tube that you damaged. How exactly did you help me? I’m out $26, my tire is still flat, and now I have to take it to another shop to get it repaired correctly.Your response truly highlights your excellent customer service.
Nov 23, 2024 · Alex AlvarezDropped off our two Bianchi bikes for service. Fast turnaround, expert work, and very reasonable prices. Great people and a great experience all around. Big thanks to Yianni for taking care of me and my wife’s bikes!
Mar 23, 2025 · George MI wouldn’t recommend this place. I first came in after I was cruising down the street and happened to come across Tom and was missing a bike grip on my bike. Tom told me come on in and I’ll give you a free one. I thought “perfect what a great guy for being so nice and caring about the community and hooking me up, I know where I’m coming to get my bike fixed from now on.” I showed up to get my bike fixed and then was originally told one price then they started working on it and started telling me I needed to add other things to the original pricing they gave me. I explained this to Tom when I saw him and he told me “well those guys know what tests you need” I then showed up a second time for a bike tuneup, and new grips, was told that the neck piece was gonna need replaced if it came off again. I asked if they lubed it and was told “no because then I’d have to take it apart” well that saves me money in the long term instead of replacing something. I peddled out with my brakes squeaking and neck piece making a dry screeching noise. Was also called and told my bike was ready and when I showed up they were still putting it back together. I explained to Tom why I came to his shop instead of going to a big business like dicks sporting goods, because I like the small community vibe that people can potentially get better at a small shop instead of a big huge “everything” store. When I was waiting in line to pay someone just went right in front of me in line. Was also listening to an older guy talk about how he just bought a brand new bike and it wasn’t working. I guess they were going to refund for him which was good. Feels kind of odd posting this after reading all the good reviews, maybe I’m just the anomaly, but I won’t be back. That’s too many problems in two visits. Sorry Tom. Won’t be recommending your store to others either.🤙✌️Would of bought a brand new bike at Dicks Sporting goods or bought my own stuff and learned how to fix it myself vs dropping a few hundred dollars in your store if I knew this would happen. I shouldn’t have to correct your bike mechanics on how to tune up my bike, they should know to do that themselves. My bike and customer service is important to me, and that’s how I choose where I go. Best wishes to you.
Apr 20, 2025 · Jake BeckerAwesome shop and staff go above and beyond. We stopped in last minute to rent an e-bike for a day. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Very welcoming and made sure all our questions were answered. The bike was very well maintained and a great price. Thank you
