Specialized NYC - Upper West Side Reviews
DON'T BUY SPECIALIZED!I bought a Specialized bike for $2,700 in September 2024 (8 months ago). While riding, the bike completely destroyed itself when I changed gears.I took the bike to the store 2 weeks ago. After being ignored via iMessage, I had to reach out by phone to get an answer: Specialized does not cover this under warranty. That is insane. Imagine paying $2,700 for a bike, riding it a few times, and then having it completely destroyed due to a technical malfunction caused by something they built incorrectly. NEVER EVER BUY SPECIALIZED. Do yourself a favor and save yourself some headache.PS: I could got hurt really bad if I didn't save myself from falling while the malfunction happened. Will definitely take legal actions.
May 10, 2025 · Enes WitwitI shipped my first bike to the store for picked up and had an amazing customer service experience with Arsenio (sorry if I’m misspelling your name). He was very attentive to detail, showed me everything I needed to know, and went into detail about the bike. He answered all my questions.
Jun 28, 2025 · Candy GonzalezOrdered a bike for my wife (long over due). Everyone was helpful with sizing and answered many questions. We knew what we wanted when we went in so the purchase was straight forward but watched them engage with other customers and could tell they enjoyed cycling and didn’t try to oversell anything which is a sign of a great shop. Also cool that they do local rides in central park and apparently weekend rides over the GW.
Jan 29, 2025 · Graham Guthrie (Trainfor24)Hard to find a bike mechanic you can trust, who’s as meticulous as they come. Got my bike tuned up by Alberto and assisted by Eric’s great customer service skills who didn’t keep me waiting. Great communication on parts/labor - no hidden costs. They’ll text you when bike is ready/status report with photos. Will def come back!
May 11, 2025 · Rica RicaWe were the first customers in line when the store opened and were looking forward to getting some help with a new handlebar and stem. While waiting outside, we spoke with other walk-ins who had various requests, and everyone seemed hopeful for good service.Unfortunately, that’s not what we received. Despite being first through the door, the staff member who greeted us showed little interest in assisting. Instead, they prioritized fitting cleats for customers who arrived after us. Rather than helping us directly, we were handed off to a colleague who was already busy selling a bike—clearly a long engagement. We waited patiently for 30 minutes with no follow-up, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to keep us informed. Eventually, we left without being helped at all. The lack of basic customer service and courtesy was really disappointing—especially from a brand like Specialized, where you’d expect more attention and care.
