Second Life Bikes Reviews
Hands down the best shopping experience I have had in a long time. I came into second life bikes this morning in search of an assortment of obscure used parts for a bicycle that I am building. Ended up staying for hours pouring over the vast selection of new and used parts and having an incredibly pleasant time shooting the breeze with Pete and Greg.A handful of customers came and went while I was browsing and I watched them receive careful and knowledgeable help from the staff here in regards to what used bike would meet their needs. As with most things, bicycles, and bicycle parts can become expensive fast. I was beyond pleased at the extremely reasonable pricing on both complete "ride it away" bikes, incomplete "as-is" fix-or-for-parts bikes, and loose odds and ends components. This place is charming, and is truly a treasure trove of excellence (if you know what to look for!) and if you don't, just ask! The guys here are happy to guide you to whatever you need.I hope my glowing review conveys my delight at my experience here, and I cannot wait to come back and bring home more goodies that I really can't fit into my garage! Thanks again so much!
Feb 25, 2025 · Gabe CI will edit my review to be more direct.I understand these bicycles are being put together with used parts and I don't expect to get a pristine bike. The bike we purchased was not any cheaper than one we could purchase elsewhere but we thought it was a good cause. The gears have never worked right. The first time we brought it back to be fixed they charged us an additional $30 even though it was an issue with the parts on the bike initially. The same gears slipping occurred on the bike ride home less than a mile after the "repair". We went back and they had an attitude. In fact when they hung it on the repair stand the seat twisted. They told me I had to fix it myself that they had tools out front. By that second repair it was the end of the season so we only tried it out and did not ride any distance. The first time this year using it the gears are still slipping. I write this review because it is dangerous! All of a sudden while riding on a street in traffic the bicycle becomes unresponsive as the gear slips.I am not going to return the bicycle because I am afraid for them selling it to somebody else.
May 27, 2025 · JulieWas on the hunt for a BMX bike and we found the perfect one! This establishment is truly a community gem. They are doing a fantastic service by refurbishing old bikes and giving them a second life. The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is super friendly.I’m sure there is something for everyone here and it would be difficult to leave without finding what you came for.Great place serving a great cause!! Bravo 👏
Jul 17, 2024 · G HAwesome shop! I've been wanting to go here for a while just to get a sense of what they have and what the prices are like. I did not expect to be leaving with a bike, but I found one that I didn't want to pass up and wound up riding it all the way home. It apparently had only been worked on and set out on the floor this morning, so that gives you a good idea of how fast the turnover can be.I only looked at fairly new bikes, and I can tell you that all of them were at least half off their original price regardless of how untouched some of them looked. I also didn't want to bring a bike home unless I had a lock, but they had a nice array of them for sale by the register. The service was super friendly and two different people helped me out. One informed me all about what I needed to know, and even let me demo a few bikes out on the sidewalk. The owner rang up my purchase and really couldn't have been friendlier. I'm very pleased with this shop and would recommend it to anybody.I'm still pretty shocked that I came home with a bike today, but it's beautiful, rides great, and I'm just excited to have something to ride around town. Thanks guys!
