Twin Bicycle & Sporting Goods Reviews
Personally this shop has gone down hill in the last few years. While the two brothers that run the place are great guys, I can’t say the same about their repair jobs.I bought a bike from them a few years ago for a good price. The bike was a brand they carry and they tend to talk highly of. However this bike from the start just kept having issues. Despite bringing this bike to them on numerous occasions, the bike never stayed fixed. It either came back with the same issue, or it came back with another issue. But no matter how many times I brought it to them, it just kept breaking. Now I’d chalk this up to bad design, but other people I know who brought bikes to them gave me similar stories. I recommended one friend to bring his bike to them as he was having gear trouble. He was unable to get into high gear, they fixed it but then it wouldn’t go into low gear. They fixed it again, now he couldn’t get into the middle gears. He eventually stopped going there as other phantom issues started occurring with his bike. The thorn in my side was when a part was unavailable, so they told me to check in with them after a week as they should have it. This turned into a month of them not having said part which drove me crazy. Despite this being a bike I bought from them and it being a brand they carry, they just couldn’t fix the thing.I ended up bringing the bike to a guy in Ridgewood. The amount of repairs that had to be done was unreal. But after a completely different repair shop fixed it up, the bike has been a solid runner. Some people may say it’s a coincidence, but I’m officially convinced these guys were scamming me. They may be great guys with cheap and fast service, but I’m not planning on going back here anymore. If you live in the Middle Village area and need a bike repair done, look elsewhere. These guys aren’t it.
May 26, 2024 · Comet ChrisGreat neighborhood shop for all your cycling needs. Owner takes great pride in his craft and treats all customers with respect and care. We have been customers since way back and happy they’ve stayed right here in our community. Only issue which seems to plague this business is the hours can be unpredictable and what is typical is not always reliable.
Jul 17, 2023 · sandeebeechLet me start off by saying, amazing service! Brian and Eric are truly the essence of what a bike repair technician should be like. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. I live in College Point, there aren't any bike shops near me, thanks to the reviews, I decided to come and check them out. They serviced both of my bikes (Tune up) and gave me good tips on how to maintain them. Don't think twice, bring your bike here, you wont be pressured into buying anything, just receive excellent service.
Apr 27, 2020 · Angel GonzalezWe just bought 2 bikes from them yesterday. Eric (one of the owners) was very patient and knowledgeable. We learned more about bikes in his store than we ever knew before. My wife and I were very happy with our purchases. Eric was not pushy at all. We initially went in looking for a bikes around 400-500 and ended up spending more not because he pushed us, but because we were impressed by what we saw and what he said about them. He gave us fair prices overall. It felt good giving money to small businesses like Twin Bicycle particular around this time when so many small businesses cannot even open. thank you Eric for being a great small business owner and being a great part of the Middle Village community !
Apr 19, 2020 · juan thomasThese Guys Are The best. Eric and Brian, those are their names. They are twin brothers and together they make "Twin Bicycle". I came in here looking for a rear bike rack for my bicycle and Brian was there on that day. On this short visit alone he taught me so much about bikes. I was so happy and comfortable with this guy. Since then, I've bought the rear bike rack from them and Eric installed it for me, a new kick stand, had my gears fixed, brought my kids bikes in for tube replacement and chain tightening and Brian took care of all that for me. They fix on the spot or you can leave it and pick it up at a later time or on another day. They give reasonable prices for their services and do not pressure you. Fyi, they also sell bikes, not a huge selection but they have a few for sale. Good aluminum ones not the cheap dept. store ones and you have the option of putting them on layaway. I have become a regular customer since my first visit and wouldn't even think of bringing my bike to another shop. I love these guys. Furthermore, if you need something and they do not have it in store, they will gladly order it for you. I highly recommend.
