Heybike Introduce
The electric bicycle market in California has seen exponential growth, with more and more residents seeking e-bikes for commuting, recreation, and sustainable transportation. Companies like Heybike have emerged to cater to this demand, offering a range of e-bike models. With a physical presence in Walnut, CA, Heybike provides a local point of contact for consumers in Southern California. This article aims to provide an overview of Heybike, focusing on its services and, critically, on the customer experiences as reported by real users in the California region.
Heybike positions itself as a provider of electric bicycles, offering various models designed for different riding styles, from folding bikes for easy transport to fat-tire bikes for varied terrains. Their marketing highlights affordability and a connection to the joy of riding. However, understanding the complete picture requires looking beyond promotional material and delving into the experiences of customers who have interacted with the company and its products. The reviews provided indicate significant concerns regarding product reliability, warranty fulfillment, and customer service responsiveness. For Californian consumers considering a Heybike e-bike, these insights are crucial for making an informed decision.
Heybike has an address listed at 1140 Centre Dr, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. This location places it within Walnut, a city in Los Angeles County, California. Walnut is situated in the eastern San Gabriel Valley, providing a relatively accessible point for residents across various Southern California communities.
Commercial addresses in areas like Walnut are typically designed to be reachable via major roadways, making it convenient for customers who might be traveling from neighboring cities. For a company dealing with electric bikes, having a physical location can be beneficial for potential test rides (if offered) and for addressing post-purchase issues. While the address is provided, the nature of the reviews suggests that the physical location might function more as a service point or a base of operations rather than a traditional retail showroom with extensive walk-in service. Nevertheless, its presence in Walnut means it is geographically accessible to a considerable portion of the Californian population.
Based on general public information about Heybike as a brand, and contextualizing it with the provided customer reviews, their primary services appear to revolve around the sale and post-sale support of electric bicycles.
- Electric Bicycle Sales: Heybike offers a range of e-bikes, including models like Mars 2.0 (folding fat tire), Horizon (folding), Hero (off-road), Hauler (cargo), Ranger S, and Tyson. These bikes cater to different riding preferences such as commuting, off-roading, and general recreation. They promote a 2-year warranty on every e-bike and a 1-year warranty on the battery.
- Online Sales with Potential Local Pickup: Heybike operates primarily through online sales, as indicated by customer reviews where bikes were "ordered online for pickup" or shipped. Some "Test Riding" locations, including AMS Ebikes at the 1140 Centre Drive address, might offer the chance to test ride specific models before purchase.
- Warranty Services: Heybike provides a 2-year warranty for bikes and a 1-year warranty for batteries against manufacturing defects for the original owner. Their policy states they will replace defective or damaged components (including shipping damage not caused by user error), typically after receiving photo/video evidence. They also mention that parts damaged within one week of receiving the goods are covered, but after seven days, shipping costs for warranty spare parts may be the customer's responsibility.
- Technical Support/Troubleshooting: The company's support structure often involves customers contacting them via email or phone for issues. They state they may offer technical solutions or, if unresolved, recommend taking the item to a local bike repair store for fixing, potentially providing reimbursement for the defectiveness up to twice the price of corresponding parts (with valid invoice).
- Parts and Accessories Sales: Heybike sells various components and accessories for their e-bikes, such as spare batteries, pet bike baskets, and bike rack pannier bags.
While Heybike aims to highlight certain aspects of their brand, the provided customer reviews offer a crucial perspective on the practical experience of these features.
- Variety of E-Bike Models: Heybike offers a diverse portfolio of electric bikes, appealing to different segments of the e-bike market, from compact folding designs to robust off-road models. This variety is intended to be a strong selling point.
- Direct-to-Consumer Model (primarily): Their operational model appears to be largely direct-to-consumer, often implying competitive pricing and a streamlined purchasing process. They do have some physical "dealer" locations for test rides.
- Stated Warranty Policy: Heybike explicitly offers a 2-year warranty on bikes and a 1-year warranty on batteries, which on paper, provides a level of assurance to consumers regarding product quality. They also state a 30-day money-back return policy for undamaged/unused products.
However, it is important to address significant concerns raised by customer reviews, which highlight the discrepancy between stated policy and actual experience. These include:
- Product Reliability Issues: Multiple customers report bikes breaking down shortly after purchase or initial use, indicating potential quality control problems.
- Challenging Warranty Fulfillment: Reviewers describe extensive difficulties with warranty claims, including being sent incorrect parts, being charged for shipping on warranty items without consent, and warranty periods being exhausted due to prolonged service processes initiated by Heybike.
- Poor Customer Service and Communication: A recurring theme is the "horrible communication," "poorly managed" interactions, and unresponsiveness from Heybike's customer service, leading to prolonged unresolved issues and a sense of being ignored or "given the runaround."
- Refund Delays and Issues: Customers have reported significant delays and failures in receiving promised refunds for canceled orders, even after numerous attempts at communication.
- Additional Costs to Customers: Despite warranty claims, customers have been charged for shipping of replacement parts or advised that they would need to pay for repairs or new components (like a motor and wheel replacement for $125 shipping), even when the issue arose soon after purchase.
- Lack of Trust in Company: The overall sentiment from negative reviews is a strong distrust in Heybike's commitment to standing behind their products or providing satisfactory post-purchase support.
For individuals in California looking to contact Heybike at their Walnut location, the provided address is:
Address: 1140 Centre Dr, Walnut, CA 91789, USA
While a direct phone number for this specific address isn't explicitly provided with the given information, Heybike's official website lists a general support email ([email protected]) and a general support phone number (+1 888-301-6908 for dealers/test rides, though this may not be a direct customer service line for existing issues). Given the nature of customer reviews, it is advisable for prospective customers to exercise caution and thoroughly review their updated contact methods and support procedures.
For Californians considering an electric bicycle, the local presence of Heybike at 1140 Centre Dr, Walnut, CA 91789, USA, presents a complex picture. The appeal of electric bikes in California is undeniable, offering a convenient and enjoyable mode of transport for urban commutes, recreational rides along the coast, or exploring the state's diverse landscapes. Companies like Heybike contribute to the accessibility of e-bikes by offering various models.
However, based on the provided customer reviews, a critical assessment of Heybike's suitability for locals in California must be made. While the idea of a local presence for e-bike sales and potential service is appealing, the consistent and severe negative feedback from customers regarding product reliability, warranty fulfillment, and customer service raises significant concerns. Experiences of bikes breaking down shortly after purchase, prolonged and frustrating warranty processes involving incorrect parts and unexpected charges, and a perceived lack of timely or effective communication from the company are major deterrents.
For Californian consumers, who value reliability and strong customer support, these reported issues are crucial. Investing in an e-bike is a significant decision, and the expectation is that the product will perform as intended and be supported by the manufacturer, especially under warranty. The reviews suggest that Heybike has struggled to meet these fundamental expectations for a number of its customers, leading to considerable frustration and additional costs.
Therefore, while Heybike offers a range of electric bicycles, potential local customers in California are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution. It is recommended to thoroughly research alternative brands with a more established and positively reviewed customer service and warranty track record, and perhaps prioritize purchasing from local brick-and-mortar stores that offer in-person repair services and stand firmly behind the products they sell. The current public sentiment, as reflected in the provided reviews, indicates that Heybike may not be the most reliable option for locals seeking a hassle-free and dependable electric biking experience.

Heybike Reviews
Bike broke after first ride. Initially Heybike sent the wrong part I was charged for that mind you it was still under warranty and I’d only ridden one time after that. The bike shop contacted them which was another fee and told them it was the wrong part and they said yes, they sent the correct part and again they charged me for the shipping and they didn’t even ask for consent on that After that the bike still didn’t work and they said I need a new motor and the motor is attached to the wheel and it’s $125 to shop to ship it but if I take it, they’ll wave that cost and they’ll throw in headlights and pay for the repairs. I do not trust this company in the lease their service has been awful and at this point now they’re saying It’s not covered under warranty any longer and that’s because they’ve sent the wrong parts and they’ve dragged their feet out beyond the warranty although it’s been in the shop for two weeks. I totally think this company is awful to deal with they do not stand behind their product in the least And it’s gonna cost likely another $500 to get this bike running. Please stay away from Heybike do yourself a favor.
Jan 22, 2025 · Keniki McNeilI ordered a bike from HeyBike in March. The bike was on back order, which I was aware of. The estimated shipping date was June. At the end of August I had still not received the bike (now with an October estimated date) and chose to cancel my order. It has now been 1 month of emailing the company (approximately 15 exchanges) and they have not issued me a refund, even though they stated they would. The communication had been horrible. This company is so poorly managed. I STRONGLY advise purchasing a bike with a more reputable company. Heybike is not worth your money and certainly not worth your time.

Dec 07, 2024 · Adrian NicholsZero star rating from me, first informal I recived the bike which had problems with the ignition, and with the throttle as well. Also I was suppose to receive 2 baskets with the bike I purchased which I still have not received . It's been an entire month and when I reached out to customer service they said I had to wait for the Baskets to restock which could take another month. I do not recommend buying from here, which is really sad because I was looking forward to starting my bike journey. It really ruined the whole experience for me. So.many things went wrong for me with this purchase I made from hey bike.
Jul 02, 2024 · Rigo perezTerrible. Do not purchase a Heybike.I have Tyson and have problems with the lights since new. They turn on randomly on their own, regardless if power is on or off, and can not stop them unless I disconnect the battery.I contacted Heybike to fix the problem since bike is as new and should have 1 year warranty. I am in third week dealing with them and did not hear back for 6 days since my last email.
