Its proximity to the popular San Clemente Singletrack Trails (also known as the "Dog Park" trails) is a significant advantage for mountain biking enthusiasts, making it a convenient stop for pre-ride checks, last-minute equipment needs, or post-ride repairs. Avenida Pico is a well-trafficked road, ensuring the store is visible and easy to find. The ease of access is crucial for a bike shop, especially when cyclists need quick turnarounds on repairs or want to browse new inventory. Bike Works presents itself as a full-service, retail bike shop, indicating a wide range of offerings for the local cycling community.
- Bicycle Sales: Bike Works stocks a variety of bicycles, including popular brands like Santa Cruz Bicycles (e.g., Tallboy, Heckler SL, Hightower, Bronson, Bullit, Vala) and Norco Bicycles (including full-suspension mountain bikes like Fluids and Ranges). Their inventory is geared towards mountain bikes, gravel bikes, BMX/slope bikes, and both acoustic and e-bikes, catering to diverse riding preferences in California.
- E-Bike Sales: They are noted to carry electric bikes, which is crucial given the growing e-bike market. While specific e-bike brands beyond "e-bikes" in general are not explicitly listed in all public data, their ability to service popular e-bike brands suggests they understand the e-bike market.
- Comprehensive Bike Repair and Maintenance: Bike Works states they can handle "all routine maintenance and repairs," including flat tires and chain replacements. They also offer suspension service/rebuilds and full, bespoke bike builds for clients.
- Parts and Accessories: The shop sells a wide range of cycling equipment, components, and gear. - Claimed Full-Service Capabilities: The assertion of being a "full-service" shop for various repairs, including suspension and custom builds, indicates a broad range of technical expertise available to customers.
- Customer Service (Mixed Reviews): While one customer praised Bike Works for fixing a Rad Rover 6 battery issue that other shops misdiagnosed, doing it "just like new for a fraction of other shops," indicating knowledgeable and cost-effective solutions for specific problems. Conversely, another extensive review highlights significant challenges, including perceived delays ("Lags for weeks/months"), issues with communication ("kept telling me they were waiting for parts but I already gave them all the parts?"), lack of attention to detail (loose bolts on a "basic crash repair"), and unresolved issues with new parts (new derailleur "completely broken" in a week). This suggests inconsistency in service delivery or challenges with complex repairs.
- Experience with E-Bikes (Super 73, Rad Rover): The specific mentions of Super 73 and Rad Rover e-bikes in customer reviews indicate that Bike Works has experience working with these popular electric bike brands, which is a valuable asset for the growing e-bike community.

Bike Works Reviews
This place does the bare minimum possible,Lags for weeks/months to finish your bike and they don’t even know the bikes they have in there it’s basically like a big bike junk yard. I had 2 Super 73s that needed work one of them needed a wheel put on and new chain they were able to get that bike fully fixed for $150 after I paid. I got the receipt and it said they did a basic crash repair but yet there was still bolts that were left loose on my bike like the handlebars, headset, and they couldn’t even put a bolt on the rear wheel to hold it on better How basic is this repair?? 🤣🤦🏻♂️ Than with my second bike it needed a chain and new front brakes. I brought in 100% brand new SLX front brakes and rotors for them to install but they told me i got the wrong ones so they just took them and made me buy new ones after like 3 weeks i was wondering what was going on? They kept telling me they were waiting for parts but i already gave them all the parts? Than after a month they finally call me and tell me my bike is ready So I go there to pick it up turns out it’s actually not ready once again and this time they are telling me I’m gonna need a new Derailer. I wait another week and finally my bike is ready to pick up for 350$. I’ve had my bikes back for like a week now and the basic crash repair bike is good (After i tightened all the bolts and fixed everything myself) And the other Super 73 that got the Brand new derailer it’s already completely broken 🤣😭. Definitely don’t recommend comming here Unless your a Grom with a bunch of daddy’s money 😂 Usually I’d do all the work myself but i just wanted it done and thought they could do a good job 🤷🏻♂️ if you have any tools at all i would 100% recommend you do your own bike work just watch a YouTube video and be patient that’s the only thing these guys do but at least if it’s your own bike your gonna care more than they will to get it fixed the right way 💪🏼💯
May 01, 2025 · Sir. LoganardoHad a charging issue with my Rad Rover 6 battery pack. It was a simple fix other shops were quoting a new battery pack in order to fix. Bike Works looked at it and fixed it just like new for a fraction of other shops. Will definitely be using them for all of my bike needs.
Mar 19, 2025 · ChrisSuper awesome guys here! Saved my riding vacation. Not only did they have parts in stock, but they had used parts I needed. Highly recommend!!! Thanks so much :)
Aug 23, 2024 · Trin CordovaGreat shop! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, real riders and excellent mechanics. These guys know the bike biz and will set you up with the right bike for you or fix pretty much anything on your existing bike.
Nov 05, 2022 · chris in san clementeThese guys are all so nice! They deal with kids all the time bringing their bikes in and my son even brought it in one day and they fixed it on the spot for free (it was an easy fix), but still! So friendly and helpful! Thanks again, Bike Works!
