Jul 09, 2018 · Ken BoostromMy bike seat was uncomfortable and I was ready for a change. I showed up and on the spot, Art helped me choose a great new seat, installed it, and made sure it was fitted to my height and legs. He also installed a new mirror, which I really needed on the busy East Bay bike path. Great service and so friendly!
Aug 11, 2024 · Wendy Maldonado D'AmicoIt's been a while since I dropped in here, but I was just in another terrible shop in Bristol where I live and remembered my experience here. I don't know if I had an off-putting personality or an ugly haircut or what, but my experience here wasn't good. I walked in off the bike path to see if they could help me out with a persistently noisy rear hub. The shop was empty, nothing on the stand. The guy working there was brusque as I described the issue and suggested that the problem was with the cassette body, which I had told him could be ruled out from the beginning. His only idea to fix it was to just get a new wheel, not even to replace the hub or a part of the hub. Does he not like building wheels? I said thanks anyway, do you have any chain lube while I'm here? He offered me WD40, which is the last thing I'd put on a moving bicycle part. He didn't even offer to sell me a bottle of real chain lube, I had to ask if I could buy some. I took the hub apart when I got home and found the problem, which was fixable with some spare bearing cones I had in another wheel.I also called them on the phone a few weeks after that to see if they could cut down the crown race on an old fork. It would be one thing if they just didn't have the tools do it, but they straight up said it couldn't be done. Not true, it's not even a hard job.If you're not knowledgeable about bikes, at least you could be friendly to customers, but nah not here. Why even run a bike shop? The profit margins can't be that good right? Two stars instead of one because the lubricant I made them sell me was reasonably priced and there was a cool old Trek 850 or something on the wall.
Apr 26, 2024 · Jack WhinneryThey are very nice and helpful. I went there about a half hour before they closed to see if I could drop my bike off to fix a blown tire. They were so friendly and said they could fix my bike right then and there. They also took extra time to fix my breaks at no extra charge. The price was very fair and the service was amazing. I highly recommend visiting this shop for anything involving biking :)
