May 21, 2025 · Lydia KulattiI was visiting San Diego for a conference and had just one free day to go for a bike ride. I’d brought my own bike with me and was really looking forward to getting out on the road. Unfortunately, when I assembled my bike, I realised the headset needed some urgent maintenance.Thankfully, I found this shop and Cliff was fantastic. He immediately understood that I was on a tight schedule and got me back on the road quickly. The service was efficient, professional, and genuinely helpful. I really appreciated the support and would definitely recommend this shop to anyone!
Apr 23, 2025 · Christian TurnerWe came in needing two tires repaired on our electric bikes, and the team here was fantastic. The service was quick, professional, and super friendly. Prices were fair, and the staff clearly knew their stuff—they took great care of us.One thing to note: there’s no dedicated parking, so plan ahead if you’re driving. But overall, it’s a great local shop with solid service and awesome people. Highly recommend for any bike or e-bike
May 06, 2025 · Queen SamBest bike shop in town. Conveniently located near public transit and public parking structures. They have a wide variety of items. I took my bike in for service it's a bit of an older bike but the mechanic was able to get it in tip top shape. The staff was extremely helpful, it was a busy Saturday but they were quick to greet me and let me know they would be with me as soon as they could. Once with me I didn't feel rushed or pressured into anything. They made a quick assessment and were spot on with the issues. Left the shop with a bike that felt almost like new and the price was better than I expected considering it's a smaller spot. I even left with a few new accessories ;) thanks SD Bike Shop !
Apr 24, 2025 · Amanda GroleauHalf an hour into my ride the left pedal fell off.I called the shop for assistance and was asked to bring the bike back in for replacement. As the bike wasn’t usable I explained this solution was not satisfactory and requested that a replacement be brought to me.I was told to expect a call back, which didn’t happen.I was able to push the bike to a nearby gas station for assistance. Luckily the employee had tools and a screw that fitted to reattach the pedal. This involved cutting the screw to fit.I was not charged for this service so gratefully offered a $10 tip, as that is all I had. This kindness and care contrasted starkly with that (not) received from the San Diego Bike Shop.I also noticed the bike chain was rusty and required oil.The next day my colleague’s pedal also fell off his bike hired from your establishment.I conclude from this experience that your equipment is poorly maintained and your staff need basic customer service training.
