PJ’s Pedalworks in Fox Island, Washington, stands out as an exceptional resource for cyclists, renowned for its meticulous work, mobile service convenience, and the truly personal touch that PJ brings to every repair. This article aims to provide a clear and informative overview of PJ’s Pedalworks, helping Washington locals learn more about this highly recommended service for all their cycling needs.
The Pacific Northwest's diverse cycling landscape, from challenging island climbs to leisurely coastal rides, means that bicycles often endure a lot of wear and tear, and sometimes, unexpected breakdowns. This active lifestyle necessitates reliable, accessible, and expert repair services. PJ’s Pedalworks addresses this need with a unique approach, offering not just a dedicated service shop but also a convenient mobile repair option, bringing professional bike care directly to the customer's location. As glowing customer reviews attest, PJ consistently goes "above and beyond." One customer praised him for taking a ~1992 Specialized Hard Rock that had been sitting for decades and making it "truly looks and rides like new," even appreciating the emotional connection to a bike bought by their late father. Another highlighted his extraordinary efforts with an electric Madsen "bucket bike," where he "transported it to Seattle to get the correct parts, rebuilt a broken mount for the battery, got the old lights working, and even added a bell just for fun — in addition to the tune up he did."
PJ’s passion for bikes stems from a long history in the cycling world, having raced BMX and road bikes in the 90s, avidly mountain biked in Sedona and Vermont, and worked as a Fleetfoot bicycle messenger in Seattle. He's also "been a wrench in bike shops in Seattle, Reno and Rochester, Vermont" and even spent years with Raleigh in their warranty department. This deep, varied experience means he truly understands bikes from every angle, ensuring that Washington cyclists receive top-tier, knowledgeable service. His commitment to clear communication and timely work, coupled with his reputation as "just a genuinely nice guy," solidifies PJ’s Pedalworks as a cornerstone of the local cycling community.

PJ’s Pedalworks Reviews
As background, my ~1992 Specialized Hard Rock had been sitting in my parents’ garage for a couple decades. I took it to PJ to get it fixed up, knowing it would need extra work just based on aging parts. I had been anxious about get it worked on as my dad, who passed away recently, bought it for me when I was in middle school. He did a phenomenal job! It truly looks and rides like new. I recommend him without reservation!
