NP Bike Shop Reviews
Do not shop here unless you are super duper educated about the bikes they have on display. I only had a vague idea by manufacturer and family (and assumed the bikes were new). It's a small community so I am going to be vague and also use a pseudonym because goodness knows what kind of hell will be unleashed on me otherwise. I got majorly ripped off here and they could smell a sucker. Do not trust their sales. The MSRP they cited on the bike was several thousand dollars higher than the bike was ever priced for by the manufacturer. They gave me a 50% discount only for me to learn later that the bike had been sitting there for two years. This is a popular model. Why did it sit for 2 years? Something stinks here, and I suspect they always knew the bike was overpriced and customers smarter than me knew that the bike was an older model and passed on it. The bike was only worth half of what I paid for it. Then, I took the bike to be repaired and upon riding it for the first time, I could tell they did not fix the problem. Did they even try? The next time I went in to buy an accessory, the guy at the counter was so rude to me, wouldn't make eye contact and had the filthiest look on his face. I've put the bike up for sale because it's not the bike I wanted. I lost a lot of money due to these con artists, but to make it right, I will buy another newer bike from a more reputable seller. So I am out several thousand dollars for an old bike, got completely ripped off, couldn't even get a small matter fixed under their "one year free" maintenance program all to get treated badly.I will never step foot in this place again. Buyer beware.
Jun 20, 2025 · Damien SchottThe best bike shop ever. The owners are frequently on premises and connect with the customers. I spend most of my interaction with the service department and they do excellent work, quick turnaround and always deliver on or before quoted date, they know how to work on bikes simple to complicated, and keep you updated as to status. DAVE and TAYLOR and SHANE and the crew will take great care of you. Everyone is always friendly from walking through the doors to checking out at the register.
May 03, 2025 · Jeffrey RosenI love NP Bike shop. I've purchased my last two bikes from here and just upgraded to a new road bike yesterday! They still have a good selection of bikes in stock despite other places being low on inventory or out completely. The purchasing experience was excellent: they helped me pick a size, test it out on the road (I looped around Ventu, to Lynn, and down E Kelly so I got a good feel for climbing and downhill) and they even threw in some pedals for my old bike that I'm giving away to a friend. I live in Simi but grew up in NP and I'll always make the drive/ride back for my cycling needs!Edit: I do want to point out to reviewers who are upset with pricing: they sell the bikes at the MSRP but due to Covid-19 many entry level or sub $1,000 bikes are on backorder. You'll see that at most bike shops and online right now. Give them a chance, keep calling, and when they get more stock I'm sure you'll get what you need.
Aug 13, 2020 · Laura Petty-DaleI went there with an issue of a back tire. The service guy was so nice so helpful. The guy that did the work did awesome work was my first time in there and I will definitely be going back such great customer service even the sales people that I talk to while I was waiting Knew I wasn’t gonna buy a bike but explained to me all the cool stuff on the new bikes these days I highly recommend this place for service and purchasing a new bicycle. They have the top-of-the-line stuff.
Sep 02, 2024 · r forrestI had the pleasure of visiting Newbury Park Bike Shop yesterday while I was in the area for work. I was thrilled to find that they had the exact brand of bike I’d been eyeing. Warren, who helped me out, was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all my questions with expertise. What really stood out was Warren’s friendly humor and wit, which made the whole experience enjoyable and comfortable. I wasn’t expecting such a high level of personal service, but Warren even went the extra mile to help me install my trunk mount bike rack.I couldn’t be happier with my choice and am grateful for Warren’s assistance. For my next bike purchase, Newbury Park Bike Shop will definitely be my go-to spot. Highly recommend!
