Footworks Cycles Reviews
Neal is one of the best bike fitters in the Seattle area. I went to a few bike fitters to figure out my cramping issue. His thoroughness was amazing....it improved my bike time in 70.3's by 30 minutes!! One of the best and I would recommend him to anyone.
Dec 12, 2024 · Geoff McDonaldNeal built a custom mountain bike for me, and the experience was great all around. He's a physical therapist that works with athletes, so I feel like the fit is more spot on than what you'd get from a typical shop. He was really helpful walking me through various options for components so I could make the best decisions on what to invest in. And he's really resourceful: my bike was built during the pandemic when it was hard to find parts, but Neal made it happen somehow, and took time after delivering it to check make sure I was happy. Highly recommended.
Oct 30, 2024 · Steve HarshbargerTwo excellent recent experiences with Neal Goldberg at Footworks Cycles prompted me to do something I never do, write a review. At the first visit he fitted me for a pair of bicycling shoes. I knew my feet were wide, but he determined that they were low volume (who knew?) and recommended a a pair of shoes that fit me better than any shoes I have had, ever, not just biking shoes. When my wife got a new bicycle I tried adjusting it to relieve pressure on her hands, but this only led to oddly configured bars and saddle, an assortment of stems, and no relief. The second Footworks visit was for her to get properly fitted, and I tagged along. Neal's comprehensive evaluation assessed her gait, flexibility, strength, and structure, followed by video with stop action to measure body angles and positions throughout the peddling cycle. I loved seeing the smiles on her face with the improvements after each adjustment . She can ride now with comfort and efficiency, and I know we are going to be riding together a lot more. If you want to do a significant amount of cycling, I strongly recommend visiting Footworks Cycles. You are going to find it worth every penny.
Nov 08, 2024 · Brad BringgoldBackground: I am 5' 1" female, have a short reach, and have never enjoyed a bicycle that I was comfortable on. We're talking back spasms, knee pain, etc,. To be blunt, I'm sort of built like a troll.Neal fitted me with a Open Wide. I no longer feel like I'm going to launch over the handlebars or experience back spasms. Shorter cranks have been fitted to minimize knee pain (had a partial knee replacement due to years of running). I feel more secure riding on gravel and along roadsides with dirt and potholes I can't avoid due to traffic hazards.I highly recommend seeking out Neal for a custom fit, be it to determine if he can make the bike you currently own work or help you select the right bicycle (off the shelf or custom) for your style of riding. For me, a custom built bike was best.I recently did a tour of New Zealand . The bikes provided were excellent if you have a more-or-less standard body size. I found myself wishing every day that I had shipped the bike Neal built me to avoid two weeks of back spasm agony (and some road rash from an unfortunate spill ... too much weight over the handlebars to due overreaching).
Jan 26, 2025 · Lynn PNeal resolved some long standing issues with my bike fit that was causing my discomfort on and off the bike. Been able to increase training volume and intensity without disruptions post-fit.
