For residents of California, particularly those in Dixon and the surrounding areas, Fisk's Cyclery offers a distinct local option for their cycling needs. Its convenient location at 539 N Adams St in Dixon ensures easy accessibility, making it a practical choice for quick repairs or service drop-offs without venturing far from home. This local presence is invaluable, fostering a community connection that large, impersonal chain stores often cannot replicate.
When considering suitability for locals, the positive reviews highlight several compelling reasons. The "exceptionally welcoming and friendly" demeanor of the owner, as noted by one satisfied customer, creates an inviting atmosphere that encourages trust and repeat business. This personalized approach to customer service, where the owner reportedly goes above and beyond, promising and delivering timely repairs with "reasonable" and "transparent" pricing, speaks volumes about their commitment to local patrons. For many Californians, knowing they have a dependable local shop that offers "quality work" with no surprise charges is a significant advantage, especially when dealing with unexpected bike issues like a twisted handlebar after a fall.
However, it's essential for locals to be aware of the contrasting customer experience also shared. Fisk's Cyclery Reviews
My husband took his bike here after a fall left the handle bars twisted and the seat in need of adjustment. From the moment he walked in, the owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The owner promised to have the bike fixed by the next day, and true to his word, the work was completed on time. The pricing was very reasonable, and there were no surprise charges—everything was transparent and straightforward. Exceptional service and quality work. Definitely 10s across the board... or in this case, 5 stars! Highly recommend this bike shop for anyone in need of bike repairs.
Mar 09, 2025 · Orin Thompson0/10 recommend. The customer service alone, had me walking out as fast as I could. You will never see me in here EVER! Our conversation was about 2 mins and i couldnt believe what i was hearing. I was looking for a bike for my daughter who was dressed nicely and pretty girly. After explaining to the man we were looking for a 24in bike. The old man with a long white beard proceeded to tell me to "look for a bike at Walmart. Go get a cheap cruiser for her, she is just going to out grow it. Our bikes are very expensive and everything we have is very expensive." I explained to him I rode BMX and my kid has been riding BMX and now looking to upgrade a bike. Then he proceeded to point out 1 bike and say you can look at that one but it is very expensive. As a mother I don't expect a business to write me off as soon as I walk in the door, because we are women or how much we can aford. If he would have asked what type of bike we were looking for or assessed our situation he may have earned our business. If we were looking for a walmart bike I would have went there first not your bike shop!
Apr 09, 2025 · Raven DuncanSuper nice owner. He seems really honest and direct about what my bike needed and did not need.I called a number of other shops and Fisk’s Cyclery’s prices were far cheaper and he had a one day turnaround from drop off to pickup (no scheduling needed).
Apr 20, 2022 · S Aafter taking delivery of a brand new Super73 e-bike the day before, I discovered a leak in the hydraulic brake system. after a few calls to bike shops in Vacaville with no availability until the following week, I expanded my search to Dixon. I called Fisk's and he told me to bring it in and he could get it back to me by the following day at 3pm. I delivered my bike to him about 30 minutes later and told him how anxious I was to get it back. he said "be here tomorrow at 3 and it'll be ready for you." well less than 4hrs later he called and told me it was ready and the repairs were made. amazing customer service, convenient location, and a super cool owner (that sounds like a computer when he answers the phone). I'll absolutely be back and recommending him to everyone I can.
Dec 07, 2023 · Eric Kelly LewisBrought a bike not know what it may need, and asked if it would need any work. He told me upfront "if everything works well, then there's not much I can do". What a great and nice guy too. I'm going to bring my mom here to help her get a bicycle. Thank you!
