E Street Bike Shop Introduce
For cyclists in Sacramento, California, keeping a bike in top condition is essential, whether it's for daily commuting, leisurely rides along the American River, or tackling more challenging trails. Finding a bicycle shop that offers not only expertise but also fair pricing and genuine customer service can significantly enhance the riding experience. E Street Bike Shop, now located at its new address, has garnered a reputation among many local riders as a go-to destination for precisely these qualities, specializing in practical, cost-effective repairs that get you back on two wheels without breaking the bank.
In the diverse and active cycling community of California, riders frequently seek out reliable service providers who truly understand their needs. E Street Bike Shop stands out for its direct, no-nonsense approach to bicycle maintenance and repair. Their focus on diagnosing issues accurately and providing efficient, affordable solutions resonates with many who appreciate honest work over unnecessary upselling. This commitment to value and expertise makes them a trusted resource for a wide range of cyclists across Sacramento, from those with vintage classics to modern folding bikes, all seeking dependable local support.
Customer feedback for E Street Bike Shop highlights a strong appreciation for their pricing and technical knowledge. One customer specifically lauded the shop for fixing their bike for $122, when other places quoted $350, emphasizing that the mechanic "didn't try to sell me anything" and "knows everything about bikes." This sentiment underscores a common desire among local users for transparent service and fair treatment. While a detailed review from a customer named Bill noted some challenges with the new location's accessibility and an uncomfortable interaction with the owner, they ultimately affirmed that the repair work on both their folding bike and vintage Miyata frame was "done very well." This mixed feedback suggests that while logistical aspects or communication styles might vary, the core competence in bicycle repair at E Street Bike Shop remains a strong point for many who prioritize the quality of the work itself.
E Street Bike Shop is now located at 1609 Dreher St Suite E, Sacramento, CA 95811, USA. This new address represents a change from their previous location on E Street, which some long-time customers may recall. Dreher Street is situated within a more industrial or commercial section of Sacramento, which can sometimes present different accessibility considerations compared to a typical retail street.
Regarding accessibility, one customer review mentioned that it was "Very Difficult to get from Dreher st. & gain access into the parking area which is surrounded by a cage and a large, heavy steel gate that they unlock and open during business hours." They also noted "heavy steel cages around the windows and thick steel doors for security" on the storefronts in the area. This description suggests that while the address is in Sacramento, visitors should be aware that the entrance might require specific attention. It's advisable for local users planning a visit to confirm operating hours and any specific access instructions, perhaps by calling ahead, to ensure a smooth arrival. Despite these logistical points, the location within Sacramento ensures that it remains accessible to a broad base of local customers within the city and surrounding areas who value the shop's unique expertise and pricing model.
For those in California's capital city, understanding the neighborhood context is part of navigating local services. According to general crime statistics for Sacramento, crime is not evenly distributed across the city. Some areas experience higher rates of property crime and, to a lesser extent, violent crime, while others maintain relative safety. The specific area of 1609 Dreher St, falling within the wider Sacramento region, would be part of these broader city-wide statistics. For context, as of early 2025 data, Sacramento's overall crime rate is noted as having 8.12 violent incidents per 1,000 residents (exceeding the national median of 4 per 1,000) and 31.94 property crime incidents per 1,000 residents. The information available does not provide specific crime statistics for the immediate vicinity of Dreher Street, but a customer's personal perception of the area can be a factor for individual comfort.

E Street Bike Shop Reviews
The guy is polite, very helpful & knows everything about bikes. Gave me a good price for fixing my bike. Other places were trying to make me pay $350 , he charged me $122. He didn't try to sell me anything. I really like this guy , I'll definitely be back for all of my bicycle needs.
May 18, 2025 · Cody SawyerI read all the other reviews and I imagine I'm in the minority.I had been to this bike shop 5 years ago when they were on E st and enjoyed the service, but now they moved to this location and this is a high crime area.I dropped off two bikes for repair a couple months ago, although it was Very Difficult to get from Dreher st. & gain access into the parking area which is surrounded by a cage and a large, heavy steel gate that they unlock and open during business hours;when I tried to drive in,two men were standing talking and completely blocking my path, then one of the men walked toward the front, while the other walked toward the back of my car, staring at me,that's when I asked the man standing in front to "Move out of my path because I'm driving in" in a loud voice and I hurried into the parking area and parked and locked my car.The storefronts in here have heavy steel cages around the windows and thick steel doors for security.I dropped-off my vintage Miyata steel bike frame to have the inside of it rust-proofed.I also dropped-off a nice folding bike which Steve Rex would fix,a poorly designed derailleur hanger which we had spoken about by phone previously: he certainly did a nice job.I called to ask Doug if the bikes were done which was confirmed,so then I went right out to pick them up this past Fri. 6/13/25'.The owner of the shop,Doug was speaking in a loud and demanding tone of voice toward me,which I wasn't used to from him,so I quickly paid for my jobs and was getting ready to Go but noticed the folding bike's steering was very loose:it didn't come in that way a couple months ago !I showed it to Doug, then he got a few tools and tightened it,while still speaking in a loud, stressful tone.I was ready to Go;it felt good to leave. In Summary: the work I paid for the folding bike was done very well, and it seems the work Doug did to the Miyata was good also.I have no idea who loosened-up my folding bike's steering,or why it was done, but I wasn't able to ride it like that;I really don't need any more bicycle shops causing me stress.I've already had too much of that previously. sincerely,Bill
Jun 15, 2025 · Bill K. Habekost Jr.Excellent bike shop! I know nothing about bikes. Appreciated the help and got my bike tube replaced, tire pressure adjusted, and chain greased for under $25. The internet said this is a reasonable price.
Oct 25, 2024 · ThoaWe came in with a flat after we discovered our flat kit was also broken and Doug was so helpful and kind. Such a quick and friendly fix!
Aug 25, 2024 · Emily SchmidtDoug helped me with 2 flat tires today. He's super knowledgeable about bike mechanicals, parts, maintenance, and good things to have for recreation and commuting by bicycle. Ask him to tell you about the Bromptons! I'm grateful to have access to such a great shop real nearby my home.
