I hate to write a negative review of a local business, but in good conscience I have to warn others. I stopped in the Platt Park location today (3/18/25) to drop my mountain bike off for a tune and ask a question about the rear suspension. After a nice gentleman (not sure of his name) brought me upstairs to check my bike in, a fascinating yet extremely disappointing experience occurred. Maurice, the bike tech upstairs, was extremely annoyed from the second the other employee and I arrived upstairs, stating he was busy, 'so this better be quick.' He proceeded to exude annoyance, arrogance, and disdain at the fact a customer was there. Then Maurice, unprompted, started making fun of the fact my bike brand (Specialized). Every single moment of the conversation was just another jab or snide remark that I was there... in a bike shop... to drop my bike for a tune. I guess they don't like money? Then he said I had 5 minutes to tell him exactly what I needed before he had to go to a meeting. I just said I needed a tune. As he was clearly annoyed and rushing to collect my information, he was being so rude I told him nevermind, I'll just find another shop or come back another time they weren't so busy. He couldn't have gotten my bike down from the stand fast enough nor have been happier to have potential customer leave. Maurice, go touch grass. And for the shop owners, good luck staying in business with an employee like this. I'll be going to another shop despite you being a block from my house. Highly recommend AVOIDING this shop.

Literally I just found out that this bike shop was only a few miles away from me and happy to know it now. I was needing adjustments for our mountain bikes and usually go to old down town Castle Rock for maintenance but google search revealed this fairly new shop nearby. When I arrived, which happened to be on a Saturday, the gentleman working there promptly provided my much needed maintenance on our bikes and quickly serviced each one while simultaneously assisting other customers. I was impressed. service was completed and I walked out of there highly satisfied. I highly recommend other bike owners and enthusiasts to visit this store and support their work, they are truly fabulous! Great customer service, professionalism, and great looking store will immediately grab your attention.

This is actually my fourth bike from Base Camp, and every time I’m blown away by their outstanding service and attention to detail. From start to finish, Harley, Collin, Moe, and Tony are all exceptional at what they do and make the entire process seamless and enjoyable.Harley really listened to what I was looking for in my custom bike, and helped guide me to the perfect specs. Collin’s expertise in fitting and setup made sure the bike felt like it was built just for me. Tony was incredibly helpful with any questions I had, ensuring I understood everything about the bike and the features it offered. And Moe’s hands-on approach with final assembly and fine-tuning really showed how much care goes into every build.I can't recommend Base Camp enough. As complicated as bikes are these days, it is hard to find good bike mechanics versed in all three bike disciplines, and the expensive higher end bikes. We have been starved for a good bike shop in the Castle Rock area including Parker. I’ve driven back to Boulder to have my bikes worked on. These guys are great - Roger went several extra miles to fix my Gravel bike I built online: derailleur overall, a buggered rim taped tubeless tire, and a serious wheel true @ a more than fair price I was glad to pay. Roger is a true bike Guru. They have a proper selection of bike accoutrements, and proper bikes. You should at least stop in to thank them for choosing Castle Rock to set up shop, and go ahead and buy some “New Bike In A Can.”
