SUN AND AIR Reviews
Brian, Daniel, Addie, and Miguel are all rockstars. At Sun and Air there is amazing hospitality, and they steered me in all the right directions. They guided me towards great choices with my budget towards modding my bike, and I am so happy with my new basket commuter. The turnaround was fast, and the work high quality. The things that they didn’t have in stock, they ordered for me and threw on the bike in less than a week. The transformation to my bike, commute and overall quality of life in the city has been truly game changing. Can’t recommend the crew at Sun and Air enough! Go give them a visit!
May 10, 2025 · Ian CherryI'm going to just post my email that was never replied to that I sent to the email on their site two weeks ago that was never replied to or acknowledged."Good afternoon,I took my bike in to Sun and Air last Saturday just looking to get a price assessment for a tune up. I ended up not going for the full tune up as it was a bit too expensive ($350, the bike cost $500) for me right now but I asked the mechanic that was there if they could shorten my handlebars, which they did for a totally reasonable price. Anyway, when I left the bike store I got on my bike literally right outside the store and the tire was completely flat. I went straight back into the store and asked what had happened and the mechanic and cashier said it can't have happened in the store and they'd have to charge me to fix it. They then pointed out what they said was a piece of glass in the tire, which they said must have been the culprit, but took zero accountability. The bike did not have a puncture before I brought it in to the store, I biked perfectly well all the way from my place 40 minutes away to the store, you will probably be able to see me dismount on the cameras if you care to check them. I picked the "glass" out of the tire then asked for them to patch it so I could at least bike home, which again they said they would have to charge me for despite them saying they don't really do patches. When I picked up the shard which they left on the ground after it had been removed from my tire, it turned out to be a sharp piece of plexiglass, which I took a photo of (attached) and gave to the cashier to throw out so it won't happen to someone else. In the 40 minute wait I had in the store I noticed that there was similar little pieces of plexi on the floor. After the wait, I was informed that the patch wasn't going to hold, which it hasn't, and was sent on my way. I was able to get back to Bed Stuy but sure enough my tire was flat the following day and I had to take a cab to work Monday.Long story short, my bike was functioning perfectly fine when I brought it in to the store, over an hour later and I can't ride it until I pay for a new tire. I wanted to talk to someone about it because I don't want to infer any malice or imply that it was deliberate or anything, but that's just not at all customer service I expect from a bike shop that comes highly reviewed. I specifically went out of my way to go to you guys because I was going to Williamsburg and saw online that you were typically an excellent service. But there's absolutely no contending the fact that I could ride my bike before I came to the store and I couldn't after. I wanted to reach out with this email anyway to let whomever it may concern know that as of this moment I am currently on the hook for getting my bike back to a bikeable condition."So, yeah, maybe their services are good but my experience was frankly laughable. I didn't want to be this guy, I never, ever leave negative reviews, but this was crazy.
Mar 03, 2025 · Andrew Philip DuaneClosest shop to me. I got my rear derailed adjusted for $19 felt super reasonable. Quick turn around every time I've gone. Go to for bits and bobs: lost knog lights, lube, gel.
Feb 10, 2025 · Maya ChaddaOne of My Favorite Bike Shop. While most bike shops in NYC have great vibes, this place also has awesome items I have not seen before—more local brands. Great service! Reasonable prices.
Feb 25, 2025 · Sarah FThis shop is great! Staff was amazingly helpful and very sweet. I brought my e bike in that was having some issues and while the fix was something they didn’t have the parts for at the time they gave me great advice.Mechanic on staff seemed like he knew his stuff and he pointed out some things other shops had missed. Will absolutely be back here in the future 10/10 experience at this shop would certainly recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet.
