## Services Offered (Historical Context and Current Observations)
Historically, as a comprehensive bicycle store, Robert F Snow and Son Bicycles And Supplies would have offered a range of services essential to cyclists. Based on its name ("Bicycles And Supplies") and customer testimonials referring to past purchases and tune-ups, these services would have typically included:
Bicycle Sales: In its prime, the shop would have sold a variety of bicycles, catering to different types of riders and skill levels, from casual commuters to more serious enthusiasts. Customers recall purchasing "good bikes" from them in the past.
Bicycle Repairs and Tune-ups: Like any full-service bike shop, repair and maintenance services would have been a core offering. This would include everything from minor adjustments and flat tire repairs to more comprehensive tune-ups to keep bikes in optimal condition.

However, it is crucial for potential customers in Virginia to be aware that recent customer experiences suggest a significant change in the shop's operational status and service quality. ## Features / Highlights (Historical Significance and Current Considerations)
The "features" and "highlights" of Robert F Snow and Son Bicycles And Supplies are largely tied to its historical reputation as a long-standing institution in the Hampton cycling community. For many years, it was considered an "icon" in the area.
Historical Icon Status: For decades, the shop was a well-known and respected fixture, where multiple generations of Hampton residents purchased their bikes and sought service. This long history is a significant highlight, establishing it as a part of the local cycling heritage.
Past Reputation for Quality: Customer reviews from years ago reflect a positive experience, with individuals purchasing "good bikes" from the establishment. This suggests a history of providing quality products to the community.
However, it is important to acknowledge that recent customer feedback indicates a considerable decline in these previously celebrated aspects. ## Conclusion: Suitability for Virginia Locals (Current Perspective)
Robert F Snow and Son Bicycles And Supplies holds a unique and somewhat bittersweet place in the Hampton, Virginia, cycling landscape. Historically, it was indeed an "icon," a reliable destination where locals could purchase quality bicycles and receive service, contributing significantly to the community's cycling culture. Many long-time residents of Virginia remember it fondly as the place where they bought their first good bikes, creating a legacy of trust and quality.
However, based on very recent customer experiences, the current suitability of Robert F Snow and Son Bicycles And Supplies for locals appears to be in question. Reports of unreliable operating hours (e.g., "website said open every Saturday at 0900" but door remained locked), unanswered phone calls, internal disarray, and issues with online order fulfillment (e.g., "sent me the wrong sized tube and then refused to refund my money") suggest that the shop may no longer consistently provide the reliable service and customer care it was once known for.
While the nostalgia for its past glory remains, Virginia locals seeking current bicycle sales, dependable repairs, or customer service should proceed with caution and independently verify the shop's operational status and capabilities before relying on it for their cycling needs. It appears that the business's current state differs significantly from its once-illustrious reputation, leading past loyal customers to express sadness over its apparent decline. For consistent and reliable bicycle services, locals might need to explore other established options in the broader Hampton Roads area.

Robert F Snow and Son Bicycles And Supplies Reviews
Website said open every Saturday at 0900. Got up and loaded bike to take for a tuneup. Arrived at 0859. Nobody there. Waited thirty minutes. Door still locked. Phone isn’t answered although I could here it ringing inside. Inside was trash strewn about. I bought my first two good bikes from them twenty years ago. I guess things have changed. Don’t rely on website. Village cycles are about seven miles down Mercury. Sad for Snow. Was such an icon.

Jul 20, 2020 · Andrew CaptainI have been to this shop 4 times, different times and different days, when they were supposed to be open. I think they went the way of the other local bike shop, closed down. The least they could do is so am edit on this site.
