Comprehensive Bike Fitting: This is their cornerstone service, applicable for both new bike purchases and optimizing existing bicycles. The fitting process is incredibly thorough, often taking hours, and includes:
In-depth Interview: Covering cycling goals, riding habits, injury history, and current bike fit issues.
Limb and Skeletal Measurements: To understand body proportions.
Alignment, Range of Motion & Stability/Balance Analysis: Assessing mobility and balance to build a position around individual capabilities.
Cleat Alignment & Custom Cycling Footbed Assessment: Stabilizing feet and legs for power, comfort, and injury prevention, often recommending custom footbeds and cant wedges.
Motion Analysis Technology: Utilizing 2D (Dartfish) and 3D (Retul) motion capture systems to analyze riding posture and technique.
Follow-up & Adjustments: The process is iterative, with communication and adjustments made to ensure the fit remains optimal as the rider adapts.
New Bike Sales & Consultations ("Rider Matched" Approach): Fit Werx doesn't just sell bikes; they match the ideal bike to the rider's specific fit and needs. After a fitting, they create a design template to identify production bikes that fit best or to design a custom build. They are authorized dealers for various bike brands and have access to specialty builders.
Bike Mechanical Service, Upgrades & Repair: They provide a full range of one-on-one repair and maintenance services by appointment. Priority is given to bikes purchased through a Fit Werx location, but they do service most makes and models bought elsewhere as time allows. This includes everything from routine maintenance to complex upgrades.
Periodic Fit Assessments: For past Fit Werx clients, they offer follow-up assessments to ensure the fit evolves with the rider's changing body, goals, or injury status.
Equipment Sales & Consultations: Beyond bikes, they stock or have access to a vast majority of parts and accessory brands sold through independent bike dealers, offering expert advice on components that complement a rider's fit.
VMBA Member Benefits: They offer special benefits for Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) members, such as discounts on fittings with bike purchase and free ShockWiz rental, demonstrating their engagement with the local cycling community.

Unparalleled Expertise in Bike Fitting: This is their defining feature. Their "remarkable thoroughness" and ability to address "cycling-specific factors broader biomechanical and physical considerations" are consistently praised. They don't just adjust a seat; they transform the rider-bike interface.
"Rider First" Philosophy: Fit Werx genuinely prioritizes the individual rider. Customers highlight their patience, professionalism, and care, even when faced with "last-minute changes" or "additional time and cost." This commitment to the rider's comfort and performance, rather than just a quick sale, is a major differentiator.
Personalized, Appointment-Based Service: The fact that they operate "by appointment" ensures that each client receives dedicated, uninterrupted attention. This contrasts sharply with walk-in shops and allows for the deep analysis and detailed adjustments that are the hallmark of their service.
Integrated Sales and Fitting Process: For new bike purchases, the "Rider Matched" approach means the bike is selected *after* the fit, guaranteeing the ideal frame size and geometry. This eliminates the common pitfall of buying a bike that's "good enough" but not truly optimal for the rider's body.
Experienced and Dedicated Staff: Individuals like Ian, Chris, and Jeff are specifically mentioned for their deep knowledge, tireless work, and commitment to client satisfaction. Their combined experience (Ian having helped thousands from new riders to Olympians) inspires immense confidence.
Education and Follow-up: Customers appreciate learning "a great deal" about how they ride and receiving "follow-up emails" to refine their position. This educational aspect empowers riders and ensures lasting benefits from the fit.
Focus on Long-Term Relationship: The provision of periodic fit assessments and priority service for bikes purchased through them demonstrates a commitment to a long-term relationship with their clients, ensuring their cycling journey continues to be comfortable and efficient.

Fit Werx - Vermont. Appointment Based Bike Fitting, Sales & Service Reviews
I had the pleasure of working with Fit Werx Vermont from August 2024 to May 2025. As a relatively new rider returning to cycling, I knew how important it was to get properly fitted to a new bike. Ian took the time—spending hours—to ensure everything was just right, approaching the fit process with remarkable thoroughness. He addressed not only cycling-specific factors but also broader biomechanical and physical considerations that could impact comfort and performance. I learned a great deal from him and became more mindful of how I ride.On the sales side, Chris was incredibly dedicated, working tirelessly over several months. Although we encountered some challenges with one of the brands we initially chose, he consistently prioritized and respected my needs and preferences—even when last-minute changes may have resulted in additional time and cost on their end, especially several builds made by Jeff. I’m deeply grateful for their professionalism, patience, and care throughout the process. If my experience resonates with your needs, I would wholeheartedly recommend Fit Werx.
May 27, 2025 · Anil AskinThe guys at Fit Werx are great! I've been a runner for years, but just started doing triathlons - Ian did a thorough fit and helped me choose a bike that works for my body geometry. I'm very satisfied with all of the analysis that went into the fit and the follow-up emails I've exchanged with him to smooth out the details of body positioning and efficient pedaling.
Aug 02, 2017 · Kevin HartsteinMy wife and I had an amazing experience with FitWerx VT! Ian, Jeff, and Jaz all went above and beyond throughout the custom fitting process and bike assembly. As former high-level competitive swimmers and recreational runners, we knew we would enjoy cycling but were intimated by the abundance of information and the fear that we might not get value out of our investment. We absolutely love our bikes and do not think we would have the same level of satisfaction and enjoyment had we not chosen FitWerx.Ian was so thoughtful and patient with all of our questions throughout the process. We cannot recommend FitWerx and their process/philosophy more. Thanks, Ian and team for helping us get into this awesome sport!
Jul 07, 2020 · Conor CarlucciIan, Jim, and Bruce have made the ownership of the bike they designed and built for me an ongoing super experience, They help me with mechanical questions, maintenance and repair. cleat adjustment and advice on training. Never once have they laughed at one of my dumb questions! FitWerx is the Best!
Aug 15, 2018 · Hale IrwinRecently bought a new road bike. My first bike in 20 plus years so I wanted to make sure I had a great bike, great fit and most importantly service. As you know, bikes are in high demand and low supply but was able to secure a Parlee frame and the team at Fit Werx began assembling parts. It was a wait but well worth it. I love my bike. The fit process was very thorough and Ian took time to explain riding position to a non- rider. After a wait the bike was ready and I had a introduction session with Jeff. The team has been responsive to questions and hasn’t made me novice mentality awkward. This is a high end bike shop so that potential existed but I felt comfortable during the process. The value will be in follow up and service and my sense is this is as important to Ian and the team as it is to me. I would certainly recommend the crew at Fit Werx VT!
