Extremely disappointed with our experience. We were told upfront that the shop would provide a free estimate for bike repairs — no pressure to commit, just a list of what needed to be done. That seemed fair, so we left the bike expecting a straightforward process. Not even five minutes later, we got a call saying they wouldn’t help us because they “knew we wouldn’t pay for repairs” and it “wasn’t worth it.”Seriously? If that’s how you run a business, maybe have the manager speak to customers directly instead of making empty promises. Don’t offer a free estimate if you’re going to make assumptions and back out before even looking at the bike. Completely unprofessional. We won’t be coming back — and we won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

Cameron, Greg and Julian are really great and provide amazing customer service. I’ve taken 3 bikes here for service over the last few months and everyone here is very knowledgeable and I appreciate that they are not trying to nickel and dime, and are great at helping you find savings when feasible. Will continue to recommend and bring my bikes here and get supplies.

I went to get my back break cable replaced, and when I left, neither the front nor the back break worked whatsoever. I brought it back and explained to them that my bike was in worse shape than when I dropped it off, and although it took a bit of negotiating with the store manager, the mechanic agreed to look at the bike within the next half hour. He worked very fast, ensuring that my breaks were in good shape and even replacing my break pad free of charge. Despite the initial issue, I appreciated how quickly the staff and Conte's fixed the situation.

I went to Conte's Bike Shop on Wisconsin Ave NW on Monday morning. I called ahead and asked if they worked on Giant bikes. They do. I went in around 10:45. I was the only person in the store. There was at least one person working on bikes in the back(within sight) and young man at the desk near the back of the store. He was on a call. I stood in front of him for a full 15 minutes. I was 5 feet in front of him. He never once acknowledged me or made a gesture to let me know he would be with me shortly. I know it was 15 minutes because I set my Parkmobile app for 15 minutes once I walked into the store. I then called Terrapin Bicycle in Bethesda while I stood in front of him. I asked Terrapin if they worked on Giant bikes. They do. I went to Terrapin and they helped me. I had to wait for another customer but the owner politely let me know he would be with me in a few minutes. One of guys from the back of the store talked to me while I waited. I have young children and I will now be purchasing bikes for them at Terrapin Bicycles. Great job Terrapin. You earned my business. Conte's Bike Shop didn't want my business enough to treat me with respect.
