Belmont Wheelworks Reviews
Terrible repair service quality:TLDR: take your bike here if you enjoy making multiple trips for the technicians to fix their mistakes.Story- dropped off bike for a scheduled derailleur adjustment (one gear skipping). Got the bike back and the derailleur was so out of tune every single gear skipped, so bad that an employee (who was doing my bike fitting) exclaimed “whoever did this should be fired.” I was also charged for a new derailleur hangar which the same employee pointed out was “definitely not new”While discussing the inadequate fix, the same employee recommended I swap the brake pads out for carbon wheel compatible ones, I agreed. I left the bike overnight while a bike technician made the fixes.I get the bike back and was charged $50 for the pad installation. When I seemed skeptical on the price, the technician assured me that the $50 was for him taking his time ensuring everything was correct.I take the bike out for a ride and the front brakes squealed so loudly (unusable) and the back brake pads were rubbing on the wheel. Frustrated I took the bike home, adjusted the brakes myself in about 15 minutes - no more front squeal, no more back rubbing.frustrating and shocking the employees can’t do basic repairs/tuning and are confident giving you the bike back in worse condition than when you left it.Bike fitting was 5/5 though!
Jun 25, 2025 · Olin RichterI haven’t been to the shop, but I was impressed with the team who volunteered to tune up bikes before a big fundraiser - Rodman Ride for Kids. They were well organized and equipped, very knowledgeable and thorough, did a good job quickly, friendly and helpful, thank you !
May 17, 2025 · Doron BrachaBought a nice road bike here in the fall. They had a nice selection of bikes and worked with me to get the one I wanted. Even returned the first bike I bought within the allowed window, and they were great to set me up with something different. They're a busy store especially on weekend in cycling season, so you may not get a lot of attention from the floor staff unless you specifically ask. So it helps to go in knowing what you are looking for. On the other hand, you can also browse without a salesperson staring over your shoulder. The only part of the experience I really disliked was the post-purchase fitting. Really not any different than what every other bike store would do for free, so it's not worth the extra money. And even though I paid for the fitting, I felt like I was wasting the guy's time as he made basically no modifications to my bike. I had visited a fitter prior to purchasing, and I went back to that fitter for the post-purchase fitting with much better results.
May 09, 2025 · Buckeye ClubsUsed to be a decent place but had gone downhill. They are not loyal to their customers and it shows. I cannot recommend them and I love cycling and encourage people to cycle more, but you need a trustworthy local bike shop
Jun 23, 2025 · ScottIf you're in the market for a new road / endurance bike this is the shop! Nick & Kat where incredibly kind and helpful in getting me set up on a Cannondale Super Six (dream bike), they also provide some great after purchase services like tune ups and fittings. Definitely worth the trip if you're in the Northeast region.
