Blur Cycleworks Reviews
These are for a 99 GT Ultrabox Speed Series build with NOS components and zero blemishes. I figured I would take them to a “professional” and have them pull the bearing races so that I could convert them to sealed axles and not ruin them. Well…. Unfortunately the “professional” severely damaged the hubs. Huge gouges and deep unfixable clamp marks on both hubs. What was whoever worked on these things thinking?? Surely they wouldn’t have done this if these were their own personal set. Either that, or they have amateurs working on our bikes. Whatever it is, beware..I hate to leave a bad review (especially with how nice of people they are) but I would have been much better off doing the work myself. Now I need to find and buy a new set in order to complete my build. Some before and after pictures of the hubs here.
Dec 05, 2024 · Carlos CamposThis is a smallShop that will remain small.People say support small businesses, but the following is not something that would happen at a bigger chain shop:The owner (Eric) and bike tech took no responsibility or accountability for damaging my shoe to the point where they are now unusable. They told me they were ready after I texted them so I went to the location. They said they would do me a favor and replace a BOA dial system on my shoe that I was toldWas under a BOA lifetime warranty. They ultimately pointed fingers at me and the manufacturer when I complained that the shoe won’t release. They tried to fix it on the spot, but quickly realized this was beyond them and the shoe was hosed.I’m sure the owner will continue to point the finger but if you look closely at the dial, youCan see obvious breaks and stress cracks in the housing indicating that they there was improper force applied.I called the manufacturer shop and they said it was likely they broke the system, that the dialSystem doesn’t suddenly break/crack on their own. When I turned it in to Blur originally there were no issues with the dial itself, it was just not staying tight or slipping a bit; In hindsight, this was something I could live with or fixed myself probably. The shop was not diligent in keeping me updated, I had to provide the parts ultimately since they were taking forever take get them, claiming the warranty process was complex. Well, it wasn’t complex for me. Parts arrived in 2days!Often times they ignored my calls ( caller ID I assume) but when I calledFrom a different number, they would immediately answer. I guess they don’t like people calling in and wondering what the status is on their work order.I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after further review, stay away from this shop if you value your products. They will not take responsibility for their mess ups and customer service is deplorable here despite the ironic sign hanging from the ceiling.
Apr 28, 2025 · CLove this shop and the folks at it. They're passionate about cycling and fitness and have certainly gone out of their way to always take care of me. Their weekly rides got me in a good habit and helped me go from being completely out of shape to being able to ride for hours at a time. Happy to support them after all the support they've given me.
Jun 20, 2025 · Taylor McCarreyExtremely knowledgeable and nice to people to interact with. I brought in a bike for a tune up and also purchased one for myself. The owner showed me new bikes and then had no qualms about selling me a used bike when I showed interest in that instead. When I returned to get both bikes after their respective tune ups, he also helped me install a bike rack that I had to purchase. The shop was not busy so I wouldn't expect that every time, but it was incredibly thoughtful and helpful to have someone help with that installation. I intend to use this shop for all my future bicycle needs.
Feb 05, 2025 · Bryan BradfordOur family loves the shop. Lots of kids bikes that need lots of fixes. The people there are very friendly and very helpful. They have a sign hanging saying, customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and it shows.
