This shop is just down the street from our home, so when my eight-year-old was given a new bike for his birthday and we wanted to have the back brake checked and adjusted if needed, we walked down. We were also shopping for a helmet and bike lock. The owners first question when I asked if he could check my son‘s brake was “where did you buy the bike?” I responded that the bike was purchased on Amazon. (my son is eight and still learning so this is a practice bicycle) he then told me that he could take the bike in for repairs, and possibly have it back in a week, maybe longer. I was surprised, and responded that it would just be a quick adjustment, not a repair. (If it even needed that.) He responded “I am not going to put you in front of another customer when you bought this on Amazon”. (He was standing in an empty shop with no customers in sight) He was rude, and that certainly was not what I was asking him to do at all- we weren’t asking for a repair or for him to do anything for free.We went down to Sadie‘s, where we were met with kindness, they looked at my son’s brake and it needed absolutely nothing. It took less than a minute. So that is where we spent 60 bucks on a helmet and lock. And when it is time for us to invest some money in a bicycle, not only for my son, but for the rest of our family, that is where we will be going. You missed out on a good repeat local customer. - Missy McDonough
