Bike King Cycling Reviews
Ed is the best in the area hands down. Couple months ago he helped me with bike adjustments for my indoor and outdoor bike. Not only that, he actually spent a good deal of time talking to me about training programs, and ways I could stop the cycle of riding/resting due to strains from overworking myself.I won't go anywhere else now for any bike related things. Plus he has some really cool riding stories that are worth a listen!
Jun 10, 2025 · Rob PuzyckiEd built a pair of wheels for me many years ago. I crashed into a deer at 35 mph. My frame and fork were broken, I was broken, but the wheels were good. Also, I was in Bike King a while back when someone entered the store with a scooter. I don't know if it was the one who posted a bad review, but this is how the conversation went:Ed: Is that an electric scooter?Customer: Yes.Ed: Is the battery currently in it?C: Yes.Ed: It has to be outside; I can't have it inside the store. If you give me 2 minutes, I will come out and look at it.C: Can you just come here for a minute and look at this?Ed: No, I will look at it outside. Unless you remove the battery, the scooter cannot be in the store.C: But it will only take a little bit.Ed: No, not in the store. Then the customer begrudgingly took it outside. I did not ask, but I believe it has to do with the fire code.Granted, Ed is very direct, he tells you how it is, and generally does not sweet talk you as most sales people do. If you are worried about your feelings getting hurt, go elsewhere. If you want someone that is extremely knowledgeable and proficient at what he does, go to Bike King. Ed has lived and breathed bicycles his whole life. Competence is what I want from a lawyer, accountant, doctor, car mechanic, and that is what I found at Bike King.
Apr 01, 2025 · Dan BurkeLiterally saved the day with an odd request and last minute repair. My friend's manual wheelchair slipped a tire. He was in a panic because he had DR appointments the next day. Ed said bring it in. He had to rig up a stand with a tool box and a trash can, and with sheer will and strength and a couple of tools got that dang tire back on for him. We chatted about The Who while he wrestled with the problem. I can't say enough good things about Ed. This is what it means to be a good member of the community!
May 20, 2025 · Paula CollIt is wonderful to meet people like Eddie when you genuinely enjoy talking about cycling. He is an encyclopaedia, and some of his stories literally took place in the arenas of the cycling gods, the signed picture of 'big Mig' on the wall is solid proof. And he loves Italian bikes and components, as do I. Pinarello? Yep. Cinelli? Yes sir. Hell, even Basso I think! And a few French dames thrown in for good measure (Look, Time I think too) As well as cycling gear from quality producers: yes, the cost of a jersey may exceed the cost of a large bucket of snow crabs, but it will keep you comfortable in the saddle for many happy years, and you will look great in the process. I sense some of the bad reviews I saw below came down to the fact that people have no patience for a local shop that may make you wait (why not browse the products while waiting?), may tell you what you need to know, rather than what you want to hear, and may be a little more expensive than your big country-wide online shop that does not care about the sorry state of your local riding community. Here's my advice: get back on your bike, get some exercise, and if you need help, go and see Eddie and Rudy at Bike King. Eddie even talked us through several local routes for both on and off road excursions. Party on!
Jun 16, 2025 · James HeanleyI asked ED to do full service of my daughter's bike. I am was charged $ 65. Here how it looks like (see images - nice clean up right?). He changed $25 to fix the front wheel bend/wobble. But he did nothing.Terrible customer service. They will NOT get any new bikes in stock till mid next year.Just saying, honesty and quality are more important to a business. You are in this business for more than 10 years. I am sure you know better than me. Pls don’t rob your customers.
